摘要： Carriers for loads are disclosed, especially beach use, e.g. as beach carriers or for transporting kayaks or canoes. A foldable assembly of two elongate members (1, 2) forms a frame, the two members being pivotally connected at one end (3), and their other ends carrying wheels (10, 11). A support strap (6) or foldable support between the elongate members, and the members themselves, forms a stable base for the load, and the wheels (10, 11) enable it to be pushed or pulled along. Preferably the wheels (10, 11) are hemispherical with their axes of rotation inclined downwardly and outwardly with respect to the elongate load.

摘要： The handling properties of two-wheeled trolleys may be materially improved by arranging for the freely rotatable wheels (1, 2) to be able to move to a certain extent relative to the frame or load-receiving container portions (3, 4, 5) of the trolley in a direction parallel to the direction of travel of the trolley. This can be achieved by mounting the trolley wheels (1, 2) so that they, and the axles (32) on which they are mounted for free rotation, can, preferably independently, swivel about a horizontal axis displaced from (and lower than) the level at which the wheels are mounted on their respective axles. The wheels are preferably set at a high positive camber angle. Letting the wheels swivel materially improves handling on rough terrain. The trolley is preferably foldable to save space when being transported or stored.

摘要： Load-carrying apparatus is described comprising a box or frame structure (15) adapted to receive or support a load, means (16, 17) enabling the box or frame structure to be rotated about a horizontal axis relative to the ground on which it rests, and two ground-engaging wheels (1,2) mounted for free rotation on axles (7) connected to the box or frame structure. The axles can themselves swivel to a limited extent relative to the box or frame structure. The axles (7) on which the two wheels rotate are coplanar in a vertical plane when the apparatus rests on a horizontal surface and are preferably inclined at 75° to 105° to one another, so as to provide a substantial camber angle between the two wheels. Each axle (7) is mounted on the box or frame structure (15) in a fashion allowing it to pivot relative thereto about an axis substantially parallel to the ground on which the wheels rest.

摘要： Carts, trolleys or like load-carrying apparatus, for example a wheelbarrow, are disclosed. They incorporate two wheels (2, 3) which rotate about separate axes of rotation (4, 5) which are coplanar but inclined to one another, preferably at an angle (α) between 50 ° and 100 °. They are mounted on a base structure or frame (1) in such a way that when the apparatus rests on horizontal ground, the plane containing the axes of rotation of the wheels (4, 5) may be moved to be vertical to allow the wheels to turn easily as the apparatus is moved along the ground, and moved away from vertical to cause the entire apparatus to be braked (as the wheels then try to travel in different directions across the ground). This principle may be applied to three and four-wheeled load-carrying apparatus.
