摘要： Device for spreading open an edge area of webs lying on top of each other, in particular an edge area of a foil bag (1) of the type which has two side walls (2, 3) of foil material which lie against each other in the edge area concerned when the bag is flat. The device has a first (100) and (100') a second spreading head, situated opposite each other, and each provided with a suction cup (102, 102') facing the other spreading head. Each spreading head has a movement mechanism for the suction cup, which can move the suction cup between a suction position, in which the suction cup can rest against the corresponding side wall of the still closed edge area of the bag and can grip the side wall, and a spreading position further away from the other suction cup. In the case of each spreading head, a first clamping jaw (104) and a second clamping jaw (106) are disposed respectively on either side next to the suction cup, the first and second clamping jaws of the two spreading heads being situated opposite each other, so that the edge area of the bag can be clamped between two opposite clamping jaws.
