摘要： The present invention discovers a security thread or stripe. The security thread or stripe comprises i) a first optically variable layer (1,8) imparting a first different color impression at different viewing angles, ii) a second optically variable layer (2,9) imparting a second different color impression at different viewing angles, iii) a first color constant layer (4,6) having a color matching the color impression of the first or second optically variable layer at a first viewing angle, iv) a second color constant layer (5,7) having a color matching the color impression of the first or second optically variable layer at a second viewing angle, and v) a substrate, wherein the first optically variable layer, the second optically variable layer, the first color constant layer and the second color constant layer are jointly visible from one side of the security thread or stripe.

摘要： The present invention concerns a security thread or stripe for the incorporation into or onto a value-document or currency substrate, as well as a method and means of making such thread or stripe. The thread or stripe comprises a plastic foil which carries a hardened coating comprising oriented magnetic or magnetizable pigment particles, the orientation of said pigment particles representing graphic information. Preferred are optically variable magnetic or magnetizable pigment particles. Said hardened coating may also be comprised between a first and a second plastic foil. Said graphic information is a repetitive seamless pattern of suitable repetition length, which is produced using a magnetic orienting cylinder having a corresponding repetitive seamless magnetic field pattern. A magnetic orienting cylinder and a process for process for producing such magnetic orienting cylinder are also disclosed. The process comprises the coating of a cylindrical support body with a polymer material comprising a high-coercivity permanent-magnetic powder as a filler material, and magnetizing or engraving the seamless outer cylinder surface to form on the cylinder a repetitive seamless magnetic field pattern.

摘要： The invention discloses a method for marking and authenticating a security article, such as a banknote, a document, a ticket, a foil, a thread, a label, a card, or a commercial good, so as to provide for an easy authentication of said article by a machine, such as a currency acceptor, a ticket validator, or a hand-held authentication device. According to the disclosed method, the security article carries a marking in the form of a user-defined design, wherein said marking comprises dyes or pigments belonging to an extended, or hyperchromic color space which is not reproducible by commercially available, 4-color desktop reproduction equipment. The authentication of said marking includes the mathematical transformation of the crude spectral information to statistically independent hyper-color coordinates, and the comparison of selected hyper-color coordinates with corresponding reference values.

摘要： The invention relates to a device, system and method for producing magnetically induced visual effects in coatings, particularly security or decorative features, containing orientable magnetic particles. The device comprises a printing unit, an orientation means, a substrate-guiding system and a photocuring unit. The printing unit is arranged to print with the coating composition an image on a first side of a substrate. The orientation means comprises a magnetic field generating element for orienting the magnetic particles in the coating composition of the printed image. The substrate-guiding system is arranged to bring and hold the substrate in contact with the orientation means. The photocuring unit irradiates the image printed on the substrate to at least partially cure the coating composition of the image while the substrate is still in contact with the orientation means. The photocuring unit is configured such that its emission of thermal radiation energy is such limited as to not heat the orientation means to an average temperature T1 exceeding 100°C.
