摘要： An implantable medical device system and associated method deliver drive signals having different frequencies to establish vector fields comprising an arterial volume and a venous volume corresponding to targeted portion of a patient's body. Impedance signals are determined in response to drive signals having different frequencies. Impedance parameter values are determined over time. A change in the hemodynamic status of a targeted portion of the patient's body is identified in response to the impedance parameter values.

摘要： A medical device for monitoring a patient condition includes a sensor capable of being advanced transvascularly to be positioned along a volume of tissue, the sensor including a first combination of a light source and a light detector to emit light into a volume of tissue and to detect light scattered by the volume of tissue and to generate a first output signal corresponding to an intensity of the detected light. A control module is coupled to the light source to control the light source to emit light at least four spaced-apart light wavelengths, and a monitoring module is coupled to the light detector to receive the output signal and compute a measure of tissue oxygenation using the light detector output signal.

摘要： An implantable medical device (IMD) can include an implantable pulse generator (IPG), such as a cardiac pacemaker or an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD). Various portions of the IMD, such as a device body, a lead body, or a lead tip, can be provided to reduce or dissipate a current and heat induced by various external environmental factors. According to various embodiments, features can be incorporated into the lead body, the lead tip, or the IMD body to reduce the creation of an induced current, or dissipate the induced current and heat created due to an induced current in the lead. The implantable medical device comprises a lead, at least one conductor, at least one tip electrode and a switch which switches between a first operational state and a second operational state based on whether an external field is present.

摘要： An apparatus for determining a respiration parameter in a medical device in which a pressure sensor senses pressure signals, and a signal processor, coupled to the pressure sensor, receives the sensed pressure signals and generates corresponding sample points. A microprocessor continuously adjusts a breath detection threshold in response to the generated sample points to generate a current adjusted breath detection threshold, compares a current generated sample point to the current adjusted breath detection threshold, suspends the continuous adjusting of the breath detection threshold and sets the breath detection threshold equal to the most current adjusted breath detection threshold generated prior to the suspending, and determines the respiration parameter in response to a comparing of a next generated sample point to the set breath detection threshold.

One exemplary method involves delivering ultrasonic energy to cardiac tissue. In response to delivering ultrasonic energy to the cardiac tissue, receiving, with a processing unit, a torso-surface potential signal from each of a plurality of electrodes distributed on a torso of a patient. For at least a subset of the plurality of electrodes, calculating, with the processing unit, a torso-surface activation time based on the signal sensed from the electrode. Presenting, by the processing unit, to a user, an indication of a degree of dyssynchrony of the torso-surface activation times via a display.
