    • The invention relates to a heatable tool for a device, which processes a plastic melt or a metal melt, comprising a surface that comes into contact with a melt. An electrically conductive ceramic (16, 54, 116, 154, 216, 254) for heating, at least in the area of the surface, is provided in therein or is integrated therewith. In order to improve the design of the heatable tool, the invention provides that cooling channels (220) for conducting a cooling medium are made in the electrically conductive ceramic (216). The invention also provides that the electrically conductive ceramic (16, 54, 116, 154, 216, 254) is designed as an insert for inserting into a tool base structure, whereby the insert, particularly by oxidation, has, at least in part, an electric insulation. Lastly, the invention provides that a nanostructure is applied to the electrically conductive ceramic or, alternatively, a ceramic structure system consisting of an electrically conductive ceramic and of an electrically non-conductive ceramic is created.

    • Method for monitoring and/or regulating the injection casting in injection casting machines by measuring the temperature of the injection mould. A heat sensor is introduced into a hole of the mould against the moulding cavity surface, so close to it that the temperature variations resulting from injection cycles may be recorded by the heat sensor. The results of the measurements are monitored as to the admissible maximum deviations, and it is appropriate to monitor the minimum temperature and the temperature difference between the maximum temperature and the minimum temperature. When exceeding predetermined maximum tolerances, a signal to control a quality point is actuated for the sorting of parts and/or a light signal, respectively an acoustic signal is emitted and/or the casting machine is disconnected. Furthermore, the measuring signals are used to regulate the mould temperature and the mass temperature. In multicavity moulds, the complete filling of each moulding cavity is monitored.
