    • A hand-held flow metering device 10 for dispensing a pressurized fluid comprises a valve 26, a flow meter 28, a trigger lever 20, a trigger release mechanism 30 and meter electronics 84. The valve 26 is connected to the pressurized fluid to regulate flow of the pressurized fluid through the device 10. The flow meter 28 is disposed within the flow of pressurized fluid to measure volumetric flow of the pressurized fluid. The trigger lever 20 is configured to be manually displaced to mechanically open the valve 26. The trigger release mechanism 30 is connected to the trigger lever 26 and is selectively actuated to mechanically prevent the trigger lever 20 from opening the valve 26 when the trigger lever 20 is displaced. The meter electronics 84 is connected to the flow meter 28 and the trigger release mechanism 30 to actuate the trigger release mechanism 30 based on output of the flow meter 28.

    • The cable hose 30 and hose 20 are designed for use in a system where the handset dispenser 10 is remote from the metering and pumping function. As the user dispenses oil or other fluids, data is transmitted by a communication wire 30 that runs inside the hose 20 that transports the fluid. The power to energize the components is also transmitted through the same wire 30. A swivel 36 is designed for use with this hose 20 and cable 30 so as to limit rotation to less than 360 degrees thereby preventing damage to the cable 30 from excessive twisting. A barbed swivel fitting 38 attaches to the hose 20 and is provided with a partial circumferential groove 40 which extends around the fitting 38 less than 360 degrees and provides a physical barrier preventing rotation beyond the desired amount.
