    • The system and method disclosed herein is a dynamic endpoint generator that enables a client device or application to consume business objects. Business objects expose a single logical data structure and view of a business object as well as a single set of logical methods that are associated with the business object. The business object is a dynamic business object whose definition can be changed by either adding or removing data or actions without the need to involve technical or development resources to reconfigure or recompile the actual objects. The endpoint generator provides updated endpoint information automatically without the need for manual generation of endpoint or contract data. If a business object is modified or newly added, the endpoint generator is automatically notified and publishes information about the modified or newly added object. The client device that is accessing the business object is notified about the modified or newly added object. Or, an endpoint is generated when a client device requests a business object.

    • To make an oriented plastics material geogrid (10) in which oriented strands (6, 9) form triangular meshes with a junction (11) at each corner and six of the strands (6, 9) meet at each junction (11), a plastics material sheet starting material has holes in an array of hexagons, opposite holes of each hexagon being aligned in the machine direction, and the starting material is stretched first in the machine direction and secondly in the transverse direction. In the eventual geogrid (10), the centre portions of the hexagons in the starting material form the junctions (11). The centres of the junctions (11) are slightly biaxially oriented, but at the edges of the junctions (11), the orientation of the edge of substantially each strand (6) or (9) runs around the edge of the respective junction (11) and into the edge of the next strand (6) or (9). During the second stretch, restraint can be applied in the first stretch direction and discontinued before the material is allowed to relax in the second stretch direction. If desired, the procedure can be terminated after the first stretch, to produce a uniaxially-oriented geogrid. By using a starting material which has through holes and weakened zones, it is possible to form the geogrid of the invention from a starting material having a rectangular array of through holes.

    • A tooling assembly for a continuous extrusion apparatus includes a die top (22) positioned in a shoe (8) arranged to be urged into contact with a rotating wheel (2) having a circumferential groove (26). An abutment body (24) is positioned as a sliding fit in a recess (30) provided in the die top (22) and is formed with a spine (44) arranged to project into the circumferencial groove (26) and with shoulders (46) flanking the spine arranged to co-act with the cylindrical surface (50) of the wheel (2) adjacent an abutment face (48). The abutment face (48) lies in a plane inclined slightly to an axial plane through the wheel and the faces (34, 36) on the abutment body (24) seating on faces (38, 40) of the recess (30) are aligned such that forces arising during extrusion act to urge the abutment body (24) into the recess (30). Where the wheel (2) is formed with a plurality of circumferential grooves (26), either a corresponding plurality of abututment bodies (24) and associated recesses (30) in the die top (22) are provided or a composite abutment body (24) having spines (44) and shoulders (46) formed as lands intermediate the spines seating in a single recess in the die top is provided. The spine (44) and shoulders (46) are of a linear form, thereby facilitating manufacture. In addition, replacement of the abutment is greatly facilitated in comparison with previous arrangements in which the abutment was integral with, or bolted to, the die top (22).
