    • A controller or processing system for a vehicle, such as a passenger service vehicle, the vehicle having at least one energy storage system, at least one alternator or other charging device coupled to and/or operable or driven by an engine or motor, wherein the alternator or other charging device is switchable between an operational state and a non-operational state by the controller or processing system responsive to one or more parameters of the vehicle. The invention also includes an associated vehicle and method. The parameters of the vehicle optionally include one or more or each of: acceleration of the vehicle, accelerator pedal position, vehicle speed, rotation speed of the engine, the gear currently selected and/or the current being drawn from, or load on, the at least one energy storage system and/or current being drawn by one or more or all electrical components of the vehicle and/or engine coolant temperature.

    • There is described a glazing system (900) for a passenger service vehicle (100) having a removable retainer (960) configured to engage with a frame (910), and to retain a glazing panel (400) against the glazing mount (940). There are also disclosed secondary retainers (980), which are configured to additionally retain glazing (400) against the mount/frame, and configured in a complementary manner with the frame (910). In use, the secondary retainer (980) may be affixable to the frame (910) using a locating fit, such a locating fit configured to be able to hold the secondary retainer (980) together with the frame (910), without further mechanical fixing. Such a locating fit may be sufficient to maintain the glazing panel in position. A locating fit may does not inhibit translation of the secondary retainer along the frame, when affixed thereto.

    • There is disclosed a passenger service vehicle having an upper deck (100) and a lower deck (110), and a passenger staircase (400) extending between the upper deck and the lower deck. The staircase is positioned internal to the vehicle. In some examples, the staircase has at least an upper stair portion and a secondary stair portion, where the upper stair portion is connected to the upper deck and comprises at least one tread, and further connected to the secondary stair portion via an intermediate landing (420, 440), whereby the secondary stair portion extends parallel with respect to the length of the upper deck, and the upper stair portion extends transversely, and in some cases perpendicularly, with respect to the secondary stair portion. In some examples, the staircase comprises a lower stair portion. One embodiment envisages a U-shaped staircase. In some further examples, the staircase is described together with a fuel tank configuration.

    • There is described a control system for a passenger service vehicle, comprising at least one tyre-condition system in communication with a sensor arrangement and configured to determine a condition of a tyre of the vehicle. The control system may comprise a vehicle controller, in communication with the tyre-condition system, and may be configured to control speed characteristics of the vehicle based upon the determined tyre condition. In some examples, the vehicle controller may be configured to limit the speed of the vehicle based on the determined tyre condition. In further examples there is described a passenger service vehicle wherein at least the rear axle comprises only two tyres. The passenger service vehicle may use the control system to determine a condition of those tyres, in the manner above.
