A first clamp assembly (25) is mounted on the frame and is configurable to receive and be closed onto the first pipe segment adjacent an open pipe end thereof, the first clamp assembly defining a centre axis (101) of the first pipe segment. A second clamp assembly (35) is configurable to receive and be closed onto the second of the pipe segments adjacent an open pipe end thereof. One or more guide tracks (50, 51) are provided on the frame to support the second clamp assembly for movement in a direction oblique to the axis. First actuator means (60)10 effects the movement of the second clamp assembly, whereby to open and close a space between opposed rims of the open pipe ends that extends generally normal to the aforesaid direction. Also discussed are a method of butt fusion welding pipe segments in situ, and a method of inserting a junction in a fusion weldable pipe in situ.

摘要： Apparatuses for use in negative pressure wound therapy are described herein. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a pump assembly having a pump housing, a magnet, an electrically conductive coil, and a diaphragm, wherein the electrically conductive coil is configured to move a portion of the diaphragm to pump a fluid through the pump apparatus, and a dampener positioned within the pump assembly configured to reduce sound generated by the pump assembly during operation of the pump assembly. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a housing having a first section and a second section, and an illumination source disposed within the housing adjacent the first section, wherein the illumination source is configured to illuminate the first section, wherein the first section is one of transparent and translucent, and wherein the first section is thinner than the second section as measured perpendicularly from inside to outside the housing. In some embodiments, the pump apparatus includes components configured to be laser welded together.

摘要： Systems and methods for controlling a pump system for use in negative pressure wound therapy are described herein. In some embodiments, a method for controlling a pump system includes causing provision of negative pressure, via a flow path, to a wound dressing configured to be positioned over a wound, the flow path configured to fluidically connect the pump system to the wound dressing, measuring a first pressure value in the flow path at a first time, measuring a second pressure value in the flow path at a second time, calculating a first rate of pressure change using the first and second pressure values, and in response to determining that the calculated first rate of pressure change satisfies a threshold rate of change, providing an indication that the wound dressing is full, wherein the method is performed under control of a controller of the pump system.

摘要： A machine converts a web of preformed pouches, which are defined by transverse seals extending from a remote edge, into inflated dunnage units. A sealing arrangement is positioned to provide a longitudinal seal intersecting the transverse seals to close the preformed pouches and form a dunnage unit. The sealing arrangement has at least two sealing belts. Each belt is positioned so that respective first sides engage a surface of the web and pull the web through sealing elements positioned on either side of the web. A heating element is on a second side of the first belt not engaging the web. A compliant material is on a second side of the second belt not engaging the web. As the web passes between the heating element and compliant material, imperfections in the web are smoothed by the compliant material and the layers of the web are sealed by the heating element.
