摘要： A method and apparatus for efficient precoding matrix verification in a multiple-input multiple-output MIMO wireless communication system are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit WTRU sends a precoding matrix index PMI to an eNodeB. The eNodeB sends a verification message including a PMI indicator indicating whether or not the PMI of the WTRU and a PMI of the eNodeB are identical. If the PMI of the WTRU and of the eNodeB are identical, the eNodeB sends just a PMI indicator otherwise the eNodeB sends to the WTRU a PMI indicator and the PMI of the eNodeB. A plurality of PMIs may be sent simultaneously, and the PMIs may be partitioned into a plurality of groups. The PMI indicator may be either attached to or inserted into control signaling. PMI validation messages can be signaled to WTRU by control signaling or use of a dedicated reference signal.

摘要： A method and apparatus for reducing a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication system are disclosed. Transmit beamforming or precoding is performed on transmit symbols based on a channel matrix. For feedback, channel matrices may be averaged over multiple subcarriers and the averaged channel matrices may be further quantized. In order to reduce the PAPR, amplitude clipping may be performed on the symbols after the transmit processing. The amplitude clipping may be performed by hard clipping, soft clipping, or smooth clipping.

摘要： The present invention is related to indexing channel information feedback in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO)-based wireless communication system. In one embodiment, at least one measurement of a channel metric is performed. The measured channel metric is quantized and a codeword is selected that represents the measured channel metric. Feedback is generated based on the channel metric measurement. The feedback includes an index to the selected codeword. A codebook is generated by partitioning a plurality of codewords into two or more tiers, assigning indices to the codewords and correlating the codewords in complex vector space and Hamming distance in binary indices. For any given codeword, a first subset of the codewords may have a higher correlation with respect to the given codeword. In another embodiment, the number of bits used to report codebook indexing is determined based on the frequency of the generation of the feedback.

摘要： A method and apparatus for random access in an evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) system are disclosed. For code division multiplexing (CDM), a basic preamble is generated using a constant amplitude zero auto-correlation (CAZAC) sequence. The basic preamble is repeated for M time for generating a random access channel (RACH) preamble. For time division multiplexing/frequency division multiplexing (TDM/FDM), an extended CAZAC sequence is used to generate the basic preamble. Alternatively, a hybrid RACH access period including at least one CDM random access slot and at least one TDM/FDM random access slot may be provided. For synchronized random access, a RACH burst including a preamble part, a message part, and two cyclic prefixes may be generated and transmitted.
