    • A quick method for converting CO 2 into methane is provided. According to this method, CO 2 is first combined with suitably formulated and treated biomasses according to predefined ratios and then subjected to an optimized anaerobic digestion process based on bacterial populations of specially selected high-density acetogenic and methanogenic microorganisms. The method described herein integrates four modules: a first module adapted to prearrange a concentrated CO 2 flow; a second module for preparing, by using industrial methods, nutritional substrates obtained from cocktails of highly degradable, low-cost vegetable and animal matrices; a third module for preparing, by using agro-industrial methods, alcoholic substrates from low-cost vegetable matrices having a high carbohydrate content; a fourth module for carrying out the industrial conversion of the CO 2 obtained from the first module into acetates and subsequently into methane, by combining it according to accurately defined ratios with optimal nutritional and alcoholic substrates respectively obtained from the second and third modules and then by subjecting said combination to a totally engineered anaerobic digestion process. The proposed method is very useful for industries emitting greenhouse gases as well as for any plants involved in the production of energy from biomasses or in the disposal of organic waste.

    • The invention relates to a method of separating methane and carbon dioxide from biogas and to a device for carrying out the method. These are intended for purifying biogas, wherein carbon dioxide is separated off from the biogas. Starting from the disadvantages of the known prior art, a method is intended to be provided which is distinguished by an energetically favourable mode of operation. For this the solution proposed is that the biogas is passed under atmospheric pressure and standard temperature into the absorption column, wherein while the biogas ascends through the packed bed, which preferably has a surface area of 600 to 1200 m 2 /m 3 and at a space velocity of 5 to 40 Nm 3 /m 3 h, carbon dioxide present in the biogas is bound in the wash liquid by chemosorption. The purified methane gas is taken off at the top of the absorption column at a defined flow velocity. Carbon dioxide bound in the wash liquid is removed by desorption at a relatively high pressure of 2 to 30 bar and a temperature of at least 120°C. Biogas may be separated particularly economically into methane and CO 2 by the suggested procedure.

    • A chicken or fowl grow out facility (11) utilizes a ventilated floor assembly- including a ventilated floor (64) through which liquid and gas can flow, but which retains manure deposited thereon, and a closed bottom floor plenum (62) underneath the ventilated floor, which includes a liquid and vapor barrier (60) covering the ground surface. Blowers in an attic plenum can discharge warm air through hanging pleated conduit tubes into the floor plenum to provide heat through the ventilated floor. A plurality of indirect evaporative coolers (42) and associated air blowers (44) in the facility walls force outside air, cooled or uncooled, into the growth facility, and create higher pressure in the growth facility than the pressure in the floor plenum. Vacuum blowers (72) associated with the floor plenum cause the flow of air and air-borne contaminates through the floor and exhaust same from the plenum to outside the facility which dries manure on the floor and reduces ammonia formation and pathogen growth. A movable power-driven pusher wall pushes the marketing age fowl onto a conveyor for harvesting.
