    • The present invention discloses a monitoring system integrated on a casing or tubing sub (10) having an inner and an outer surface and defining an internal cavity, comprising a sensor (24) ; data communication means (21A) for providing wireless communication between an interrogating tool (20) located in the internal cavity (14) and the sensor, these data communication means being on the casing or tubing sub; and power communication means (21B) for providing wireless power supply to the sensor, these power communication means being on the casing or tubing sub. The invention further discloses a method of completing a well in a subsurface formation comprising the step of installing the casing or tubing sub of the present invention. The invention further discloses a method of monitoring subsurface formations, fluids in the well or casing and tubing properties with the casing or tubing sub of the present invention.
