摘要： The described bicycle has a frame made of a composite material and defining a monocoque shell which is monolithic, entirely formed of the composite material, and includes: a rear upper portion, a head tube portion, and a rear mounting portion; and first and second side panels each extending between, and integrally formed with, at least the head tube portion at a forward end and the rear upper portion and the rear mounting portion at a rearward end. The first and second side panels are integrally interconnected along their respective top and bottom edges to form a substantially hollow shell structure at least partially enclosing a shell cavity defined between the laterally spaced apart first and second side panels. The hollow shell structure defines a rear opening between the rear upper portion and the rear mounting portion that communicates with the shell cavity.

In the method, polymer tapes (20) of a first polymer material are laid on a laying surface (11) of a laying element (10) to form a first layer. The laying surface (11) can be curved three-dimensionally. Further polymer tapes (20) are laid on the first layer to form at least one second layer. The method is characterized in that the laying element (10) is likewise composed of polymer material and remains in the finished component (14). 摘要： A method provides for full or partial infusion of resin into three-dimensional, woven textile preforms (23). Resin film (41, 45) is placed at selected locations adjacent the preform, and the resin film may be separated from other areas of the preform using separator sheets (43) or other materials. The preform is heated and may be vacuum-bagged to apply pressure, or may be rolled or fed through a die. The heat and pressure cause the resin to infuse into the selected areas of the preform adjacent the resin films. The amount of resin in the partial infusion is the same as is necessary to fully infuse the preform, but the resin remains localized in the selected areas until heated again at cure to cause the resin to flow throughout the preform. The method may also be used to fully infuse the preform with resin by providing sufficient temperature and time at that temperature during the initial infusion.

摘要： In the expansion held prepeg composite (100) disclosed herein, using a flexible and expanda-ble tubular core (101), one or more set of fibers are linearly placed over the circumference of the tubular core (101); and one or more set of fibers with predetermined tensions are wound over the linear fibers to create an expansion held prepeg composite (100). Atleast one of the set of fibers is precoated with resin. The tension of wrapping of each subsequent set of fibers is higher than its precedent wound layer. A bladder tube is inserted into the tubular core (101) of the expansion held prepeg composite (100). The expansion held prepeg composite (100) is a held in the desired three dimensional shape. Compressed air is introduced into the bladder tube and cured. At least one of the sets of fiber must be impregnated with resin.
