摘要： A growing system is described where plants are grown in containers 10 and the containers (10) are stored in stacks (12). Above the stacks (12) runs a grid network of tracks on which load handling devices (30) run. The load handling devices take containers (10) from the stacks (12) and deposit then at alternative locations in the stacks or deposit then at stations where goods may be picked out. The containers (10) may be provided with one or more of the following services: power, power control, heating, lighting, cooling, sensing means, data logging means, growing means, water and nutrients. The provision of these services within individual containers rather than across the system as a whole, allows for flexibility in storage whilst reducing cost and inefficiency and enables multiple crops to be grown in a single area.

摘要： The present invention provides a system and a method for growing plants. The invention comprises a container that is built into the frames of building walls. The containers can be built into the frames of exterior or interior walls. The containers can have a single glass face or the containers can have two, or more, glass faces. At least one glass face includes a series of holes for permitting gas exchange between the inside of the containers, where the plants are housed, and the interior space of the building. The size, spacing and number of holes in the glass helps maintain moisture levels within the container. Variables of the system such as the size, spacing and number of holes in the glass can be optimized to develop a relatively stable water cycle within the container so that minimal further watering, if any, is required.

摘要： An apparatus for growing plants or tissues under aseptic conditions is disclosed. The apparatus comprises of a lid and a base compartment. A linking mechanism is provided for connecting the lid and the base compartment. The linking mechanism is provided with a locking mechanism, wherein the linking mechanism is movable from a locked position to an un-locked position and vice-versa. In the locked position, the locking mechanism holds the lid in an abutting closed relation with respect to the base compartment. In the un-locked position, the linking mechanism is provided with means for automatically lifting the lid to an elevated-suspended position with respect to the base compartment thereby providing access route to reach the base compartment and perform desired operations.
