摘要： Assemblies, kits, and methods for occluding a vascular vessel, such as a varicose vein, are disclosed. An assembly (700) can include a removable inner member (712), a removable outer member (714), and an elongated expandable member (716) positioned in a compressed form between portions of the inner and outer members. To facilitate their removal, one or both of the inner and outer members can include a handle (718) coupled to a proximal end. The elongated expandable member can include a gelatin material or a collagen material that is configured, when wetted, to expand from a compressed first diametrical size to a second larger diametrical size within a time period of 5 minutes or less. At the second larger diametrical size, the gelatin or collagen material can occlude a vascular vessel for a period of at least 20 days without degrading.

摘要： The present invention provides, in certain embodiments, unique products and methods for occluding vascular vessels. Implantable devices useful in some inventive embodiments include at least two expandable occluding members, e.g., self-expandable sponge form devices, with an intermediate segment extending between the members. These devices are preferably compressible for placement in a delivery device lumen for delivery to a vascular vessel site. Upon deployment in the vessel, each of the members expands to occlude the vessel at a separate vessel location with the intermediate segment occupying space in the vessel between the two members. Optionally, the intermediate segment can be constructed to provide a hollow or other interior region for receiving one or more materials, for example, to receive an injectable fill material after one or both of the expandable members have been deployed.

摘要： A surgical stapler includes first and second tissue clamping members and a knife member. The first tissue clamping member is configured to receive a plurality of staples. The second tissue clamping member comprises an anvil configured to form the staples. A tissue treatment member is positionable between the first and second tissue clamping members.
