    • The invention is directed to providing artificial light optimally to plants during its growth cycle in a greenhouse (350)or growth chamber.This is achieved effectively by moving both the lighting device (2, 3 and 4) and its emission pattern to maximise incident light on the plants (5, 6 and 7) being cultivated. A horticultural lighting device of the invention illuminates plants so that said lighting device (2, 3 and 4) is moved vertically and at least one light emitter (3 and 4) and/or reflector (2) is rotated to maximize light exposure from said lighting device on said plants(5, 6 and 7). In the best mode the movable and rotatable lighting device is used to grow very high plants. The lighting device (2, 3 and 4) is moved by a motor programmed to change the position of the lighting device and the orientation of the emission pattern in accordance with the growth cycle of the plants in the greenhouse (350) to maximise incident flux on said plants(5, 6 and 7).

    • A luminaire system, apparatus, and method of using thereof, is disclosed for optimizing plant growth in a controlled farming environment. Different types of plants have different light requirements, and different inputs to controlled farming environment have different costs. For example, there may be certain times of day where, if power is not used, a cost savings is realized. Thus, the present invention provides a luminaire system for these controlled farming environments that receives light requirement information for the different types of plants, and in turn, adjusts the luminaire light source (110) via a luminaire light interface (106) to based on the light requirement information. The light requirement information may include spectrum in¬ formation for the type of spectrum required or needed by the plants, power cost or savings information, or light quantity information representing the maximum amount of light to be provided to the plants in the controlled environment.

    • The present invention relates to a plant factory system in which a plurality of LED modules are inserted and installed in a light-transmitting panel into a slim panel configuration, in order to minimize occupied space and increase plant-cultivating space, provide a simple configuration to significantly increase the convenience of installation, use and maintenance, and reduce expenses. To achieve the above, the plant factory system of the present invention comprises: a bed installed in a cultivation room sealed off from the external environment, said bed having a nutrient solution circulated therein; a multi-tray-type structure provided with a multi-level tray-type floor for supporting the bed; and a lighting implement installed in an upper region of each floor, wherein the lighting implement is configured as a flat panel-type LED lighting implement, comprising: a light source unit including at least one light-emitting diode (LED) module having a plurality of LEDs arranged and mounted on a printed circuit board (PCB); a light-transmitting panel linearly defining at least one LED module installing recess for inserting and installing the LED module; and a heat-dissipating member installed in contact with the PCB of the LED module.

    • A telescopic light base couples decorative light fixtures to a flower pot or other similar container. The decorative light fixture may then be used to illuminate the contents of the pot. The telescopic light base has a ground-engaging pad upon which the pot rests. The weight of the pot then serves to anchor the telescopic light base in place. A telescopic pole support of variable length is coupled at a first end to the ground-engaging pad. At an end of the telescopic pole support distal to the ground-engaging pad, a pot upper rim retention arm is provided which operatively passes within the pot sidewalls. Adjacent to the pot upper rim retention arm is a lamppost connector. The telescopic pole support may be contracted to capture a pot between the ground-engaging pad and pot upper rim retention arm, and then later expanded and separated from the pot.

    • The invention relates to an apparatus for assimilation illumination for installation in a greenhouse to cultivate light sensitive plants. The invention also relates to a mounting system and method upon which the illumination armature (6) will be installed. Illumination armature (6) with light source will be installed up in the ceiling section of a greenhouse structure. The accessory starter unit (14) will be located lower, in the proximity of the plant(s). By the application of this unique separated configuration there will be substantially less light interception as well as improved balanced temperature profile in the greenhouse space will be achieved. These are due to the heat generated by starter units that is now being utilized on a much lower level in a greenhouse. Supporting suspension elements, like steel wires, are mounted in the ceiling section (1) of a greenhouse structure. Illumination armature (6) is provided with special L-shaped holding means (7) and accessory connection piece (8). Illumination armature (6) is by means of a pair of metal- or synthetics made braces supported (hanged) upon a pair of parallelly running supporting steel wires. Fixing of the illumination armature (6) upon a pair of steel wires is obtained by fastening of a single brace. Undesired warping of illumination armature (6) at operating and non-operating times will be avoided accordingly. A chance for theft will be also reduced.
