摘要： If a bus reset occurs in transmitting printing data (ST21), an STB requests a printer to transmit the information outputted before the bus reset (C18). The printer outputs the information inputted before the bus reset to the STB in response to the request (R18). The STB outputs the printing data to the printer again (C19). The STB recognizes the information outputted by itself before the bus reset and resumes the data transmission (S14). Therefore even if a bus reset occurs, data transmission is completed in a short time, thereby reducing the whole printing time.

摘要： A still image to be provided to a television viewer is sent in a portion (such as a field or frame) of an analog television signal (41). A receiver (60), such as a set-top converter or equivalent device, receives and stores the portion containing the still image. The portion is then processed for display on the viewer's television or other video appliance (70), rather than generating the image using an on screen display controller. In one embodiment, an image (332) carried in a field of an analog television signal is grabbed as it comes by from a repeated series of images (400). This image (332) is then processed to provide a viewer requested display. Data tags (80) innocuously embedded in the image itself are used to facilitate the retrieval of desired images.

Following generation, the program guide is displayed. A system pointer (728) is displayed on the screen along with the program guide, and the system pointer is manipulated in response to input by the user. A channel is selected for viewing by manipulating the system pointer to an area associated with the still video picture of the corresponding channel.

When the user desires to see a past scene of the TV broadcasting program, the user specifies a high-speed reverse reproduction. The user designates the start position of reproduction while viewing the image being reversely reproduced. The forward reproduction starts from the designated start position. 摘要： In the capture and display of three dimensional images, techniques are provided for controlling the amount of disparity between left and right images used to create a three dimensional representation to permit three dimensional perception which would otherwise be lost as dispartiy increased beyond psychological and physiological limits. Both mechanical (470) and electronic means (520) for controlling disparity are shown. Techniques are disclosed for creating three dimensional animations which utilize disparity control for adjusting the perceived depth of an object vis-a-vis a neutral plane. When zooming in on an object with a stereo camera pair, the shift is in focal length accompanying the zoom is accompanied by a simultaneous shift in disparity so that the stereo effect it not lost when a target object is very close, a moderate distance, or very far from the cameras.
