摘要： A catheter for intravascular corporeal cooling comprises an elongated tubular member (12) having at least one lumen (26) extending therethrough for providing cooled blood, an inflatable annular balloon (16) positioned on the outer surface of the elongated tubular member (12), and a pressure reliever (32) positioned in the external wall (20) of the elongated tubular member (12) and proximal to the annular inflatable balloon (46), wherein when the pressure of blood within a lumen (26) reaches a predetermined value, the pressure reliever (32) opens to permit fluid to be released from the elongated tubular member (12). In other embodiments of the invention the catheter (40) may have two or more inflatable annular balloons (46) that are separately inflatable and/or the catheter (82) has an insulative outer annular member (84).

摘要： An apparatus for improving cardiopulmonary resuscitation involves use of a catheter having both an occlusion balloon and a pumping balloon. The occlusion balloon occludes the aorta such that all pumping action will be restricted to the blood vessels above the balloon occlusion. The pumping balloon is cephalad to the occlusion balloon and is preferably pumped in synchronization with external cardiocirculatory resuscitation. The pumping balloon preferably inflates first at the caudal end and then sequentially to the cephalad end in order to provide unidirectional cephalad pumping. Oxygen-carrying fluid may be infused through the lumen into the aorta cephalad of the pumping balloon during use.

摘要： A catheter for dilating stenotic lesions has an elongated body with at least one lumen extending therethrough. A tip, constructed of materials softer than the elongated body is attached to the distal end of the body. The tip segment has at least one lumen passing therethrough which is in alignment with the lumen in the elongated body. A guide is adapted to pass through the aligned lumens. A balloon is connected to the distal segment of the elongated body over its outer periphery, thereby creating a balloon cavity therebetween. At least one additional lumen is provided in the elongated body in flow communication with the balloon cavity, for selective inflation and deflation thereof, with a contrast fluid.

摘要： A balloon catheter which conists of a multi-tube at least consisting of inner and outer tubes disposed coaxially with each other in such a manner as to be capable of sliding with each other, and wherein a balloon is removably disposed at the tip of the inner tube and a chuck mechanism opened and closed by the forward and rearward movement of the outer tube fits and removes the balloon. This balloon catheter is introduced into a desired retention position inside a blood vessel by use of a tubular guide sheath having an inner diameter for accepting the catheter into it, and the inflated balloon is left at the position described above so as to close the blood vessel.
