    • The invention relates to the field of wireless communications, more particularly to a method of and device for switching between antennae in communication with a diversity receiver, each of the antennae receiving signals transmitted from a single source. A packet from a transmitter is received by respective antenna communicating with a diversity receiver. The signal strength of the preamble of the packet received in a first antenna is sampled. If the signal strength is of sufficient magnitude to affect reliable reception, the associated antenna is selected for the duration of the packet transmission. If the signal strength is below a predetermined threshold the signal strength of the preamble of the packet received in a second antenna is sampled and compared to the sample associated with the first antenna. If the magnitude of the second sample is greater, the signal associated with the second antenna is selected. To determine the signal strength, the arithmetic average of the signal power over a given period of the preamble is used.

    • A method for adjusting a phase difference between a received code modulated signal and a replica code sequence where, in order to enlarge the control range, it comprises a step of determining measurement values representing a phase difference between a received code modulated signal and a generated replica code sequence. The proposed method further comprises determining coefficients for a loop filter operation, which coefficients optimize a predetermined function specified for current properties of the received signal. Then, a loop filter operation is applied to the measurement values to obtain an indication of a required correction of a current frequency of the generated replica code sequence, which loop filter operation utilizes the determined coefficients. Finally, the frequency of the generated replica code sequence is adjusted based on the indication of a required correction. The invention relates equally to a corresponding unit and to a corresponding system.

    • The automatic control system of a mobile terminal for time division duplex (TDD) based communication system includes an RF processing module which controls quality of a transmission channel, and a baseband modem connected to the RF processing module through a transmission data line and a reception data line. The baseband modem generates automatic control signals based on control information received from a base station and transmitting the automatic control signal to the RF processing module through the transmission data line in a reception mode of the mobile terminal. The automatic control signals are transmitted to the RF processing module through the transmission data line, which is in the idle state, in the reception mode. Additional control lines are not required to transmit the respective automatic control signals. Therefore, utilization of the transmit data line between the baseband modem and the RF processing module can be improved.

    • A system and method that rejects interference in a direct-sequence spread spectrum communications system. The system and method implement smooth transitions from hop to hop with minimal transient degradation. Adaptive interference suppression is achieved using a suppression filter and an adaptive algorithm that processes the output of the suppression filter and an estimate of the hopping frequency of the interfering signals to switch between interference filter coefficients of the suppression filter. This creates a notch at the carrier frequency of the interfering signals and rejects interference contained in the communication signals. The interference rejection filter hops with the frequency-hopped spread spectrum interfering signals to maintain its interference rejection capability.
