摘要： An electric drive unit for powering a load, e.g., road wheels of a motor vehicle, includes a housing having a floor section separating the housing into upper and lower chambers. The floor section defines an elongated drain opening, drain holes, and an oil supply port in fluid communication with an oil pump. A rotary electric machine is enclosed within the lower chamber, and has electrical leads positioned directly below the drain opening. A cover assembly is fastened to the housing within the upper chamber, and has a coolant channel assembly integrally connected to a cover plate. The coolant channel assembly includes electrical terminals that project through the drain opening and are fastened at a first distal end of the electrical terminals to the electrical leads. The cover assembly defines a primary coolant channel in fluid communication with the oil supply port, and directs oil to the electrical terminals.

摘要： A three-phase induction motor that is rotationally driven in response to supply of AC power from an inverter including a switching element formed by using a wide bandgap semiconductor includes: a stator including a stator slot having an open slot structure for inserting a former-wound coil; and a rotor including a rotor slot into which a secondary conductor is inserted, the rotor being disposed inside the stator via a gap. Assuming that the number of rotor slots is Nr, the number of stator slots is Ns, and the number of poles is Np, Nr, Ns, and Np are set such that the relationship of Nr≤Ns−Np−6 is satisfied.

摘要： An electric motor assembly includes an axle having a first end and a second end. A plurality of rotor stages is attached to the axle. The rotor stages each include a set of rotor magnets. Each set has a greater potential magnetic field as the sets are located further from the first end. A plurality of stators is positioned around the rotor stages so that each of the rotor stages is adjacent to and covered by one of the stators to define a plurality of mated pairs. The stators each include a plurality of stator magnets. A stator control, for controlling individual ones of the pairs, is electrically coupled to each of the stators and magnetizes the stator magnets in a controlled fashion with respect to the rotor magnets to urge the rotor magnets in a same direction and rotate the axle.

摘要： A controller for a permanent magnet synchronous motor includes an estimating portion configured to determine an estimated value of a rotational speed of the rotor and an estimated value of a position of magnetic poles of the rotor based on a value of the current detected by the current detector and a parameter value indicating an interlinkage magnetic flux caused by the permanent magnet across the winding; a control unit configured to control the drive portion to cause the rotating magnetic field based on the estimated value of the rotational speed and the estimated value of the position of the magnetic poles; and a correction portion configured to correct the parameter value indicating the interlinkage magnetic flux based on correction information, the correction information being determined based on a temperature of the winding and a relationship between the temperature of the winding and a temperature of the permanent magnet.

The controller comprises a pole and phase mapping for controlling the winding of the motor/generator to a pole and a phase, and a phasor control for controlling currents of the windings such that the number of poles of the motor/generator and the number of phases in a pair of poles are dynamically adjusted through a phase relationship between the currents of the windings. The power converter means is controlled by the controller for controlling the winding currents of the motor/generator.

摘要： An electrical induction motor may include nine terminals configured to receive nine current inputs from nine output phases of a nine phase inverter. The motor may include nine windings connected to the nine terminals, and a plurality of contactors, wherein each of the plurality of contactors may be selectively opened or closed in a circuit including the nine windings to selectively connect the windings together in one of a mesh configuration or a star configuration. Each of the windings may be selectively connected between two of the nine current inputs, with a phase angle difference between the two current inputs of 40 degrees. Each of the contactors may be selectively opened or closed to establish a span value for the mesh configuration of two, with two being the number of inverter output phases between a terminal of one of the nine windings and a terminal of another of the nine windings connected to the one of the nine windings. The motor may selectively receive a first one of the harmonics of a drive waveform generated by the nine phase inverter and a second, different one of the harmonics of the drive waveform generated by the nine phase inverter.
