    • A switch panel for use in dispensing equipment which includes a switch plate having a plurality of switch positions with each having an area for receiving and mounting a first electrical switch component thereat, and at least one switch activating selector button having a second electrical switch component fixed thereto. Mounting means are provided for pivotally mounting a selector button at each selected switch position by pressing mounting ears on the selector button through appropriate slots in the switch plate until openings in the selector button are engaged by pivot pins in the switch plate, all without using any tools or connecting elements. A flat membrane switch is used as one switch component, and the selector button is designed so that when contact is made with the flat membrane switch a flange on the selector button also engages the surface of the switch plate to absorb any excessive or abusive force exerted on the selector button, and a sealing flange may be mounted behind all of the slots in the switch plate to provide a seal preventing moisture from passing through the slots in the switch plate.

    • A switch assembly having a rocker type actuator user moveable for actuating plural switches in a housing. The rocker type actuator includes first and second rocker members journalled together for rotation about a common axis. The first member has a paddle extending out of the housing and a first cam portion for actuating a first switch upon initial rotation in one direction. Upon continued rotation in the same direction, overtravel of the first switch is absorbed by a torsion spring which permits resiliently biased lost motion of the first cam with respect to a second cam for subsequent actuation of a second switch. The torsion spring provides a significant increase in the force required to move the actuator between the first and second switch actuation to provide tactiley discernable feedback to the user of the state of switch actuations.

    • A receptacle switch having a center-off position, momentary-on position, and maintained-on position. The switch includes a housing with a toggle, a first stationary contact, a second stationary contact and a third movably contact, and a leaf spring therein. The toggle has a cam member which engages a cantilever arm supporting third contact to hold the third contact spaced between the first and second contacts in center-off position.     • A power switch control module for a power window control circuit of a motor vehicle. The control module incorporates a printed circuit board, a plurality of switch contacts secured to the printed circuit board, a plurality of connector terminals also secured to the printed circuit board, a plurality of high current traces formed on an upper surface of the printed circuit board for coupling selected pairs of the switch contacts and connector terminals electrically together, and a switch control. The switch control is mounted in a frame member for pivotal movement relative to the printed circuit board and is movable between up and down positions. When in the up position the switch control electrically couples a first selected pair of switch contacts and when in the down position the switch control electrically couples a second selected pair of the switch contacts. The high current traces are capable of handling about 20-80 amps of current. Since the high current traces are formed on the upper surface of the printed circuit board, no injection molding, tooling or techniques are required for construction of the module as typically required with prior art control modules. Also, the undersurface of the printed circuit board can advantageously be used to mount other electronic components of the control circuit.

    • A switch assembly of the rotary and/or push-pull type is made up of a plurality of stacked switch section including rotary switch sections and/or push-pull switch sections, all actuated by a common central shaft. In the rotary sections, there are at least one pair of terminals, a rotary cam rotatable with the shaft, a substantially rigid cam follower contact arm biased against the rotary cam and movable, with rotation of the cam, between open and closed positions. The contact arm is hinged on and electrically connected with one of the pair of terminals. The other end of the contact arm has a dog-leg section and a resilient conductive leaf, favorably formed of beryllium-copper, on which a movable contact is mounted. The flexing of the leaf brings about wiping action of the movable contact when it closes onto a fixed contact connected with the other terminal. The push-pull switch sections have an axially movable carrier also including a flexible resilient leaf member on which movable contacts are mounted. The movable contacts of the push-pull switching sections also close with a wiping action on their mating fixed contacts.

    • A switch harness assembly for the manually operated burner control valves on a range top gas burner manifold. A pair of continuous uninterrupted parallel electrical lines have individual cam operated igniter switches each adapted for rotary driving engagement with the shaft from one of the burner valves. Each switch has a pair of contact members with portions which pierce the insulation of one of the pair of leads for making electrical connection. The switch housing is assembled over the leads and cam drum. Grease provides a seal between the cam drum and housing to improve foodstuff spill resistance and an annular grease trap about the cam drum protects the contacts from the grease.
