    • An antenna assembly suitable for use with a microwave-based level measurement system mounted on a vessel. The antenna assembly includes an installation thread, a shielded extension, and a rod antenna. The antenna assembly is screwed into a threaded portion in the opening of the vessel. The antenna assembly may be formed as a single integral unit molded from a polymer material. The antenna assembly may also be constructed with the installation thread, the shielded extension and the rod antenna comprising individual polymeric components which are welded together to form a unitary assembly. The polymer material is selected based on chemical resistant properties according to the application.

    • A guided wave radar measurement instrument comprises a probe defining a guided wave radar transmission line. A pulse circuit is connected to the probe for generating a very fast stream of pulses on the transmission line and receiving reflected pulses returned on the transmission line. The reflected pulses represent a characteristic of a material being measured. An equivalent time sampling circuit is connected to the pulse circuit operable to sample reflected pulses to build a time multiplied picture of the reflected pulses and comprises a ramp generator circuit generating a saw tooth ramp signal used to selectively delay sampling reflected pulses to build the time multiplied picture. In one aspect of the instrument, the saw tooth ramp signal has a controlled ramp start for each cycle and retrace at an end of the cycle. A processing circuit is connected to the equivalent time sampling circuit for selectively controlling ramp start for each cycle and measuring round trip travel time for a pulse from the pulse circuit.

    • A radar speed measurement device (10) comprising a display (12) for displaying a target speed, a radar emitter (14) for emitting radar waves toward a target, a radar receiver (16) for receiving radar waves reflected from the target, an analog to digital converter (18) for producing digital signals associated with the radar waves, and a signal processor (20) for determining the target speed by analyzing the digital signals. The device (10) can also calculate statistics associated with the target and further comprises a statistical processor (22) for calculating the statistics. The device (10) can operate in either of two modes. A speed mode is preferably used to determine the target speed, when the target is a race car or any other object. A baseball statistics mode is preferably used to determine the target speed, when the target is a baseball thrown by a pitcher.

    • A Doppler-based traffic radar system determines a speed of a moving target from a platform while substantially eliminating the possibility of detection by an operator of the moving target utilizing a traffic radar detector. The radar system limits a period of time the system is initially transmitting. The radar system is adapted to determine the speed of the target and display the speed. Dependent upon the displayed rate of speed, the radar system operator further has the ability to halt operation of the radar system with respect to the particular target or to reinitiate transmission of the transmit signal for subsequently tracking the speed of the moving target.

    • A level transmitter for use in a process application measures the height of a product level in a container, e.g., in a tank. The level transmitter includes an electromagnetic wave antenna directed into the tank. An electromagnetic wave source sends an electromagnetic wave signal through the electromagnetic wave antenna. An electromagnetic wave receiver receives the reflected electromagnetic wave signal. Measurement circuitry coupled to the source and receiver initiates transmitting of the electromagnetic wave signal and determines product level height based upon the received, reflected signal. Output circuitry transmits information related to product height. The device is suitable for use with containers having very small orifices for antenna insertion.
