    • The present invention relates to a radar filling level measuring device capable of generating and receiving an elliptically polarized wave and, as a special case, a circularly polarized wave, using a directional coupler which, according to a particular embodiment, may be configured as a 3 dB coupler. By simultaneously using a 3 dB coupler the necessary separation into transmitting and receiving functions can be achieved. Moreover, the present invention relates to a use of a directional coupler for generating an elliptically polarized wave and, as a special case, a circularly polarized wave, as well as to a method for generating and receiving an elliptically polarized wave.

    • A combination includes a feedthrough element for an electric high-frequency signal in a TDR level metering device, and a probe for guiding the high-frequency signal from the feedthrough element to the filling product surface of a filling product to be measured and back. The feedthrough element includes at least one guiding element (6), into which the electric high-frequency signal is to be fed at an inlet point (10), and which transmits at an outlet point (17) the electric high-frequency signal to a probe (7) adapted to guide the high-frequency signal, a one-part or multipart mechanical carrier element (1), and a one-part or multipart insulation (11, 12) present between the carrier element (1) and the guiding element (6). In the combination the impedance of the feedthrough element and the impedance of the probe (7) following the outlet point (17) are substantially matched to each other at the outlet point (17).

    • A level transmitter for use in a process application measures the height of a product level in a container, e.g., in a tank. The level transmitter includes an electromagnetic wave antenna directed into the tank. An electromagnetic wave source sends an electromagnetic wave signal through the electromagnetic wave antenna. An electromagnetic wave receiver receives the reflected electromagnetic wave signal. Measurement circuitry coupled to the source and receiver initiates transmitting of the electromagnetic wave signal and determines product level height based upon the received, reflected signal. Output circuitry transmits information related to product height. The device is suitable for use with containers having very small orifices for antenna insertion.

    • Described is a method for automatically initiating an update of a parasitic echo storage device in a fill level meter operating according to a runtime method. In this method individual echoes of echo curves of different ages are allocated, according to their typical echo characteristics, to global echo groups so that subsequently, after examining the behaviour over time of the echoes of the respective global echo curves, it can be judged whether the echoes of the respective global echo curves are useful echoes or parasitic echoes. Starting from this classification, the parasitic echo storage device is then updated with the oldest echoes of the corresponding global echo groups. Apart from the method for updating a parasitic echo storage device described is also an evaluation device for implementing the method as well as to a computer program and a computer program product for carrying out the method.
