    • A material feeder is provided that includes a drum having a number of compartments that receive material that is to be output by the feeder. The material can be any one of many different materials that are usually light and/or smaller in size, such as insulation, powders, grains and the like. At least a first seal is provided adjacent to the drum to close off an end of each compartment during some of its rotation. The first seal is preferably stationary during rotation of the drum and its compartments. The position of the seal relative to the drum can be adjusted to provide desired positioning between the seal and the drum. In one embodiment, the first seal is in contact with at least portions of the first end of the drum. The material is delivered to each compartment in the drum preferably using first and second fillers that are mounted adjacent to and outwardly of first and second ends of the drum.

    • A device for dispensing particulate matter may include a gravimetric sensor to measure the weight of particulate matter mixed with a fluid carrier. In an illustrative embodiment, a dry chemical inductor includes a bin for containing particulate matter, a conduit for transporting a stream of liquid carrier, and a valve for controllably releasing a particulate matter from the bin into the conduit. The device may further include a gravimetric sensor, such as an electronic scale or a load cell, for measuring the weight of particulate matter released from the bin. A controller may receive signals from the gravimetric sensor and actuate the valve to interrupt the flow of particulate matter when the desired amount of particulate matter has been released.

    • A remote two-module electronic fluid monitoring system. A tank module sits atop a field tank and monitors internal fluid level. Fluid level detection is achieved by tracking the position of an embedded permanent magnet associated with a given internal fluid level within an existing float gauge mechanism. An integrated circuit capable of precisely detecting the orientation of magnetic fields senses the angular position of an existing magnet and outputs an angular field reading to an interfaced microcontroller which then translates angular reading to fluid level. The tank module contains a radio frequency transmitter which then sends fluid level information to a display module. The display module receives the signal from the tank module and reports to the user the present fluid level remaining in the tank via a liquid crystal display.

    • A liquid container has a removable bottom lid and a drain opening formed in the center of the lid. The drain opening is normally closed with a displaceable drain valve that frictionally engages the opening wall and prevents escape of liquid from the container.
