    • The present invention provides a connector arrangement for connecting and locking tubular members. The connector consists of two tubular members and a coupling member. The tubular members are threaded together to create a threaded connection. The locking arrangement is provided by a pathway formed on the tubular member whereby a locking member can be inserted in to the pathway to lock the threaded connection. The locking arrangement is also provided by a plurality of castellation members disposed on each tubular member. The connector also has a separate coupling member which has opposite right-hand and left-hand threaded ends to threadedly mate with the threads of the two tubular members.

    • A cylinder head gasket includes a pair of first and second outer plates 2, 3 and an inner plate 4 disposed therebetween. The inner plate 4 is formed with containment openings H1 to H10 at given positions therein for receiving sensors S1 to S10. The both outer plates 2, 3 are formed with projections P1 to P10 which project toward the sensor, thus allowing an urging force from a cylinder head or cylinder block to be transmitted to the sensors S1 to S10 through the projections P1 to P10. There can be provided a cylinder head gasket having a sealability comparable to that of a cylinder head gasket not internally housing a sensor while reducing a cost required for parts other than the sensor to be reduced in comparison to the prior art.

    • Fittings of this invention generally comprise a body having a substantially hollow transport passage that extends between a body first end and a body second end. Each of the fitting body ends are adapted to accommodate attachment with respective fluid handling devices. The fitting includes a hexagonal outside surface portion for grasping and rotating the fitting. An interlocking attachment member is disposed along an outside surface of the fitting body and is adapted to form an interlocking attachment with a complementary member of a fluid handling device when the fitting is connected thereto. In an example embodiment, the interlocking attachment member comprises a plurality of rachet teeth that are configured to register with a complementary fluid handling device member. The fitting body first end includes a tongue that projects axially a distance therefrom that is sized and shaped to provide an interference fit within a groove disposed within a fluid handling device opening. The tongue-in-groove attachment provides a leak-tight seal between the fitting the fluid handling device.

    • A seal for preventing leakage of fluid from between a first member and a second member has a seal body and a seal wear indicator. The second member is capable of moving toward and away from the first member. The seal body is adapted for engaged contact with the first and second members so as to prevent leakage of fluid as long as the seal has not worn beyond a specified depth. A seal wear indicator is positioned within the seal body at approximately the specified depth, such that when the seal has worn to the specified depth, a change in the optical conductor is detected, indicating that the seal needs replacement.

    • Pumps and valves with movable parts, such as a plunger, typically have seals around the part. The seals may isolate one chamber from another to prevent leakage across the seals. The pressure in one chamber may be different from the pressure in another adjacent chamber, thereby creating a pressure differential across the seal. When the seal is working properly, the pressures in the adjacent chambers remain constant approximately. However, when a seal leaks, pressure will leak across the seal. As such, the chamber with the lower pressure will show an increase in pressure due to seal leakage. Thus, monitoring pressure changes in the chamber with low pressure, or pressure differentials between chambers, serves as an indicator for leakage across the seal and impending seal failure.
