    • A servo device for radio control fine-adjusts a linkage rod, which links the servo device and an operation unit, in an accurate positional relationship. The servo device includes a servo motor having a servo output shaft on which a serration is formed, and a servo horn having a shaft bore opened at the lower side thereof, the shaft bore having an inner wall on which an inner serration to be engaged to the servo output shaft is formed. The servo horn has a servo horn base from which the horn output shaft protrudes, the horn output shaft being above and coaxially to the shaft bore, an operation unit having a shaft bore engaging the horn output shaft, and an angular adjustment mechanism for linking the shaft bore of the operation unit to the horn output shaft so as to movably fix circumferentially and at an arbitrary angle.

    • An apparatus for manually uncoupling a V-belt drive from an active power source. The apparatus is mounted on the end of a pulley of the V-belt drive and is comprised of a tapered member connected to the output shaft of the power source for engaging in holding relationship the pulley of said V-belt drive; a retractor member attached to the pulley; and a toggle linkage for displacing the retractor member relative to the tapered member to disengage the pulley from the tapered member. The toggle linkage includes a first pair of diverging toggle links and a second pair of crossing toggle links having end portions pivotally connected to end portions of said first pair of toggle links. The second pair of toggle links is mounted in a sleeve for rotation about an axis having a fixed relationship to the tapered member.

    • A piston-and-cylinder type actuator, for use particularly in steplessly-variable-ratio transmission units of the toroidal race rolling friction type. In such units the actuator may serve to thrust the input and output members and their intermediate rollers into engagement, so that drive will be transmitted. According to the invention enhanced thrust is obtained by interposing auxiliary pistons (6, 7) in the space between the main piston (1) and the end (4) of the cylinder (2). One of pistons 6, 7 is linked to the main piston 1 and the other to cylinder 2, and they divide the said space into two pressurized zones (16, 18) with a vented zone between them. Where the actuator has to rotate about the cylinder axis, unwanted centrifugal forces generated within zones 16, 18 may be diminished by forming the vented zone so that a quantity of fluid may accumulate in it. Centrifugal forces develop within this fluid too, and the vented and pressurized zones are put into communication in such a way that the centrifugal forces within the two zones are opposed and tend to cancel each other out.

    • A gear driving assembly for selectively driving a wheel in the forward and reverse directions, including a forward stepped friction gear and a reverse stepped friction gear each disposed on its own support member, which is pivotable about a respective bearing point, and control apparatus operatively associated with the support members to selectively cause each of the friction gears to be separately pivoted into engagement with the wheel. The bearing points are arranged such that the friction gears can be pivoted into engagement with each other. A spring is connected between the support members to urge the friction gears out of engagement with each other. When the wheel is to be driven in the forward direction, however, the control apparatus provides a sufficient force to overcome the force of the spring and cause the friction gears to be pivoted into engagement. This arrangement of the friction gears, the respective support members and the spring forms a closed chain of links when the wheel is to be driven in the forward direction and an open chain when the wheel is to be driven in the reverse direction or is in a stop position.

    • A variable speed changing gear has an internal friction wheel made of elastic material and a cycloid wheel inscribed to the internal friction wheel. The cycloid wheel is rotated for circulating along the internal friction wheel. Because of the elastic material, the effective radius of the internal friction wheel is changeable by giving force to the cycloid wheel in the radial direction. The circulation speed of the cycloid wheel is changed in reverse proportion to the radius. The output shaft can be rotated with variable speed following to the circulation of the cycloid wheel. This speed changing gear can be operated as a load compensating device.
