    • An apparatus for sealing a vacuum chamber having a plurality of long cylinders for linearly moving first piston rods. The first piston rods connect with a frame elevator. The frame elevator has a second piston rod and guide stems parallel to the first piston rods. A lever, a transmitting rod and a connecting rod are synchronously moved, when the second piston rod is moved parallel to the guide stems by a short stroke cylinder. The transmitting rod is pivoted with a middle of the connecting rod. Direction-changing mechanisms are pivoted at the two ends of the connecting rod for horizontally moving a door to seal the vacuum chamber. The moving direction of the door pushed by the direction-changing mechanisms is perpendicular to the moving direction of the second piston rod so that the apparatus has a thin configuration.

    • An apparatus for attaching a vehicle sliding door to a vehicle side wall includes a plate, an arm member and a roller assembly. The plate is attached to the vehicle side wall and has a guide slot and an insert and release hole formed therein. The insert and release hole has a diameter greater than the width of the guide slot and intersects the guide slot at a chord of the hole. The arm member includes a first end pivotally attached to the door and a second end. The roller assembly is attached to the second end of the arm member and includes a roller having a neck dimensioned to fit in and roll along the guide slot and two disc portions disposed above and below the neck of the roller. The disc portions have a diameter which is smaller than the diameter of the insert and release hole and is larger than the width of the guide slot. The roller is attached to the plate by inserting the roller into the insert and release hole and pushing the neck of the roller through the cord into the guide slot. Once in the guide slot, the two disc portions prevent the roller from separating therefrom. The roller is detached from the plate by pushing the neck of the roller through the cord into the insert and release hole and removing the roller from the hole.

    • An overhead door and associated mating panels include a hinge guard which is used in conjunction with each of the hinges of a multi-panel or sectional door. The hinge guard includes a base that is screwed, bolted or otherwise secured to a lower one of the door panels or a stile on the lower panel. The base is designed and configured to fit between the spaced hinge arms of an upper hinge leaf of the door. The hinge guard also includes a pair of protective side flanges that are connected by a bridge to a common edge of the base. Each flange extends generally parallel to a respective side of the base and is spaced from the side to provide a gap through which one of the hinge arms of the upper hinge leaf pivots. The protective flanges are positioned on the outboard or external side of the hinge arms to thereby block or inhibit foreign objects from interfering with the movement of the hinge arms during articulation of the hinge. The hinge guard inhibits the insertion of a foreign object into the hinge from the side. Secondly, the raised arcuate-molded contour of a boss on the base minimizes the space or clearance between the upper hinge leaf and the lower door panel during articulation of the hinge to thereby inhibit the insertion of foreign matter in this region of the hinge.

    • In a sliding door for a vehicle having an opening in at least one side thereof, the sliding door is connected to the vehicle for non-linear movement along a fixed path between an open position and a closed position with respect to the opening. The fixed path is defined by an upper guide track, a lower guide track, and an intermediate guide track. Each elongate guide track has an identical generally C-shaped cross-section with an elongate slot opening through a lower surface. At least one guide member is engagable within each track for guiding the sliding door while moving in either direction between the open position and the closed position with respect to the opening in the vehicle. Preferably, at least one load bearing roller is provided on each door mounting bracket, or at least two load bearing rollers are provided on two of the three door mounting brackets.

    • A sliding door arrangement comprises a door which is slidably moved and is arranged to enclose an opening, a rail assembly coupled to the door allows the slidable movement of the door for opening and closing the opening and a securing mechanism which pulls the door inward so that the door engages the opening. A cam is mounted to a first end and a second cam is mounted to a second end of at least one vertical shaft and each cam is coupled to one guide of the plurality of guides, the cams are substantially coaxial and are parallel to a vertical axis of the shaft, each cam is mounted respectively to the guides wherein the vertical axis of the cams are off set in respect to the vertical axis of the shaft such that the shaft is arranged to rotate about the vertical axis of the cam, a first rotation of the shaft forces the door into the opening and a second rotation of the shaft forces the door away from the opening while the guides remain on the rail system, the shaft is driven by a rotation device of the securing mechanism, the rotation device pivots about a generally vertical axis such that a drive mechanism which extends outwardly substantially perpendicular to the axis of the rotation device and is coupled to the shaft.

    • A swivel-sliding door system for a vehicle having at least one door leaf situated in the vehicle wall in the closed state, and situated on the outside in front of the vehicle wall in the open state while leaving a door opening free. The frame may include a girder extending along the door opening and end flanges provided at the ends of the girder, wherein the movable assembly is movable along the end flanges, transversely to the vehicle wall and the girder, for executing a plug movement and wherein the drive motor effects both the plug movement and the longitudinal movement of the at least one door leaf along the vehicle wall.
