摘要： The guide groove-engaging portion of a shuttle for a braiding machine is constructed so that both surface portions thereof engaging the walls of the groove are in surface contact with these walls at the point where groove portions cross one another to form a loop, while end portions of this shuttle element are convex portions merging with these surface portions. The guide groove itself is of different width and curvature in its various portions. In general, it has a large radius and is relatively wide. In the loops it has considerably smaller radius but it is slightly wider. At the crossing point it has an intermediate radius, but in order to secure the surface contact already mentioned, at this point it has a minimum width.

摘要： This application relates to cable assemblies with an outer (exterior) layer formed from braiding materials together. To achieve a desired pattern, a machine tool forming the outer layer undergoes several modifications. For a machine tool with two tracks (e.g., inner and outer track) with multiple carriers of material to be braided, each carrier position may include multiple bobbins, with each bobbin carrying a spool/coil of the material. During a braiding operation performed by the machine tool, each track rotates in opposite directions. Moreover, some bobbins include an arm that guides the material in a particular manner. For example, during rotation of the track, the arm provides a swinging motion, causing the material carried by the arm to move in a periodic (e.g., sinusoidal) motion. An additional track may be used to guide the arms.

摘要： A braiding machine for use in the manufacture of braided hose. The machine has the rear deck interconnected to the front deck which front deck is composed of three separate elements, the inner deck plate, the outer deck plate and the quoits. The respective elements are of a sandwich construction, wherein a viscoelastic material is bonded to outer plate members to provide a dampening of the noise. In addition, the carrier members are similarly constructed to dampen the noise by a sandwich construction, wherein the flanges of the carrier have an inner layer of viscoelastic materials. The carriers which support the wire spools are driven in a criss-crossing pattern to provide a braiding action of the wire as it is layed onto a longitudinally moving hose.
