摘要： Techniques are directed to operating a crimping apparatus, and to a crimping apparatus for crimping a fibre strand having at least two driven rollers and a stuffer box. A nip is formed between the rollers and is sealed off at the end faces of the rollers by press plates. The press plates at the start of the process are temporarily actively pressed against the end faces of the rollers by press actuators, and, once a contact position has been reached, are held in place by generation of a clamping force by clamping actuators. Each press plate, in addition to a press actuator, is thus also associated with a clamping actuator for clamping of the press plate, the press actuators and clamping actuators being controllable by at least one control unit.

摘要： A crimping apparatus for crimping a filament bundle in a melt spinning process includes a conveyor nozzle and a stuffer box which is associated with the conveyor nozzle. For thermal processing, a processing unit, which includes a rotatable processing drum which, for guiding and temperature control of a thread plug, has a rotating drum wall, is disposed downstream of the stuffer box. In order to be able to carry out as gentle a processing of the thread plug as possible, the stuffer box is disposed axially parallel to the processing drum in such a manner that the thread plug can be infed in a straight run from a plug outlet of the stuffer box to the circumference of the drum wall. This allows the naturally acting weight force of the thread plug to be advantageously used for guiding the thread plug.

The adjusting mechanisms are mounted on the brackets, which can slide relative to the bracket. The cheek plates are mounted on the inside of the adjusting mechanisms. Two identical brackets, adjusting mechanisms and cheek plates are mounted symmetrically at two sides of the pair of nip rollers and affixed on the base frame. The cheek plate device further comprises fluid thrust devices, which include fluid inlets and cylinders located on the brackets. One end of the adjusting mechanism is inserted into and coupled with the cylinder. The fluid of the thrust device flows into the cylinders through the inlets and pushes, via the adjusting mechanisms, the cheek plates toward the sides of the nip rollers. The thrust device can work hydraulically or pneumatically.
