摘要： A combination is provided that is used as a self-healing cutting board or a storage container. Both comprise a natural fabric and a formulation. The formulation infuses the natural fabric. The formulation comprises a natural wax, which is preferably bees wax and Damar resin, and has a melting point of about 70 C to about 80 C. The cutting board can be rejuvenated by heating. Both the board and the storage containers are anti-microbial, non-skid, water resistant, re-useable and compostable.

摘要： A method of making a composite coating includes the steps of: adding a proper quantity of inorganic metal salt into an organic dissolvent to form a first mixed solution and then stirring the first mixed solution for 30-60 minutes; adding a proper quantity of SiO2 precursor into the first mixed solution to form a second mixed solution and then stirring the second mixed solution for 30-60 minutes; adding a proper quantity of catalyzer and water into the second mixed solution for being reacted with each other so as to form a coating solution via being stirred for 4-8 hours; and putting the coating solution under the room temperature for 24 hours so as to obtain the composite coating. A product formed with the foregoing composite coating includes a base body and a layer of composite protective film formed by the composite coating on surfaces of the base body.

摘要： Cellulose ethers are disclosed which have sufficient nonionic substitution to render them water soluble and which are further modified with a C.sub.10 to C.sub.24 long chain alkylaryl group in an amount between 0.2% by weight and the amount which makes them less then 1% by weight soluble in water. Hydroxyethylcellulose is a preferred water soluble cellulose ether for modification according to the invention. These products exhibit substantially improved viscosifying effects compared to their unmodified cellulose ether counterparts, and provide good leveling and sag resistance in latex paints. Preferred alkylaryl groups are nonylphenyl, dodecylphenyl, and dinonylphenyl. Included are cellulose ethers with spacer groups of various lengths between the alkylaryl group and the connecting group to the cellulose molecule.

The resin contains an amidoamine or imidazoline group. The anti-fouling paint comprises the binder, a marine biocide and a pigment having a solubility in sea water of not more than 10 parts per million by weight. The pigment may itself be the marine biocide of the paint.

摘要： The invention provides metal-containing organic compositions for use as additives to surface coating compositions comprising:(i) at least one aluminium compound which is an aluminium alkoxide, or a compound derived from an aluminium alkoxide by an addition, substitution or condensation reaction;(ii) a stabiliser comprising at least one organic base or a mixture of an organic base with ammonia;(iii) a metal-containing organic compound wherein the metal is selected from Cu, Mn, Fe, Co, Zn and the rare earth metals; and optionally(iv) added water.The invention also provides surface coating compositions comprising an additive as just defined in a polymerized drying or semi-drying oil, an alkyd resin or an oleo-resinous medium.The compositions have suitable solubility, stability and compatability when added to surface coating compositions such as paints, and confer on the paints such improved properties as better drying performance, enhanced water resistance, reduced discoloration on aging the applied film, and reduced sensitivity to oxidative degradation and bio-degradation.
