摘要： A resin system and methods of making resin system wherein lignosulfonate is added to urea-formaldehyde and melamine-urea-formaldehyde adhesives. Lignosulfonate is added to the resins which improves the performance characteristics of the adhesive while reducing environmental impact by consuming byproducts from other industrial processes. The resin system includes a urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin or melamine-urea-formaldehyde (MUF), prepared in at least two stages wherein the UF resin or MUF resin has a molar ratio (MR) of total moles formaldehyde to total moles urea plus, if present, the one or more melamine compounds of from about 0.25:1 to about 2.50:1, and wherein one or more lignosulfonate compounds are included in an amount of from about 0.1-30 wt. %, based on a total weight of the resin system, and wherein the resin system has a buffer capacity of 2-400 mL of 0.1 N HCl by the ATV Method for a period of time of at least about 20 days at 25° C.

摘要： Methods for making and using amino-aldehyde resins. The method for making an amino-aldehyde resin can include mixing an intermediate amino-aldehyde reaction product having a total aldehyde compound to total amino compound molar ratio ranging from about 1.4:1 to about 3:1 with a first aldehyde compound and a first amino compound to produce an amino-aldehyde resin having a total aldehyde compound to total amino compound molar ratio ranging from about 0.5:1 to about 1.2:1. The concentration of the first aldehyde compound mixed with the intermediate reaction product can be about 1.9 wt % or more based on a combined solids weight of the aldehyde compounds and the amino compounds in the amino-aldehyde resin.

摘要： A novel amino resin composition produced by reacting one of or a mixture of more than two triazine derivatives of Formula I: ##STR1## wherein, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 each represent an independent substituent, and one to five substituents thereof represent a C.sub.1 -.sub.20 alkyl group, a C.sub.2-20 alkenyl group (the alkyl group or alkenyl group may optionally have an alicyclic structure of phenyl group), or a phenyl group, and the remaining substituent or substituents represent a hydrogen atom with formaldehyde; a novel amino composition produced by reacting a mixture of one of or a mixture of more than two of said triazine derivatives and melamine or urea with formaldehyde; and an amino composition comprising a novel amino composition produced by reacting a mixture of one of or a mixture of more than two triazine derivatives with formaldehyde and a melamine-formaldehyde resin and a melamine/urea-formaldehyde resin or a urea-formaldehyde resin. The amino resin compositions have toughness, post-formability, heat resistance, high hardness and excellent gloss so that they are usable for laminated sheets, decorative sheets, molding compounds, and so on. Further, the compositions can be improved in solubility in organic solvents and liphophilicity by selecting substituents, and therefore are also usable in the fields of coatings and adhesives.

摘要： Water-soluble formaldehyde-free polycondensation products based on amino-s-triazines with at least two amino groups and glyoxylic acid, which contain as further component at least one amino compound and where the molar ratio of amino-s-triazine to glyoxylic acid to amino compound is 1:0.5 to 6.0:0.1 to 2.0. These polycondensation products are excellently suited as additives for aqueous suspensions of inorganic binders, especially cement, lime and gypsum. Building material mixtures which contain these polycondensation products remain workable for a considerably longer time and, in spite of this, also set more quickly.
