摘要： Methods for preparing water soluble, non-peptidic polymers carrying carboxyl functional groups, particularly carboxylic acid functionalized poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) polymers are disclosed, as are the products of these methods. In general, an ester reagent R(C═O)OR′, wherein R′ is a tertiary group and R comprises a functional group X, is reacted with a water soluble, non-peptidic polymer POLY-Y, where Y is a functional group which reacts with X to form a covalent bond, to form a tertiary ester of the polymer, which is then treated with a strong base in aqueous solution, to form a carboxylate salt of the polymer. Typically, this carboxylate salt is then treated with an inorganic acid in aqueous solution, to convert the carboxylate salt to a carboxylic acid, thereby forming a carboxylic acid functionalized polymer.

摘要： The present invention relates to novel comb polymers, to a process for their manufacture and to the use thereof in the stabilization in an aqueous phase of active or effect substances which are insoluble or sparingly soluble in water. The invention furthermore relates to the use of the comb polymers in the manufacture of active substance formulations or active substance preparations of water-insoluble active or effect substances, in particular of active substances for plant protection.The comb polymers can be obtained by copolymerization of monoethylenically unsaturated monomers M, the monomers M comprising: a) at least one monoethylenically unsaturated monomer Ma chosen from esters of monoethylenically unsaturated C3-C8-monocarboxylic acids with C1-C20-alkanols, C5-C10-cycloalkanols, phenyl-C1-C4-alkanols or phenoxy-C1-C4-alkanols and the diesters of monoethylenically unsaturated C4-C8-dicarboxylic acids with C1-C20-alkanols, C5-C10-cycloalkanols, phenyl-C1-C4-alkanols or phenoxy-C1-C4-alkanols; and b) at least one monoethylenically unsaturated monomer Mb chosen from the esters of monoethylenically unsaturated C3-C8-monocarboxylic acids and the mono- and diesters of monoethylenically unsaturated C4-C8-dicarboxylic acids with poly(C2-C4-alkylene ether)ols; and the total amount of the monomers Ma and Mb making up at least 60% by weight of the monomers M constituting the comb polymer.

摘要： This invention is directed to a processing approach for the rapid and efficient in-situ polymerization of specially prepared precursor mixtures to achieve near-net-shape production of objects/articles with exact dimensions. The process relies on the use of polymerizable compositions comprised of a mixture of a dead polymer, a reactive plasticizer and, optionally, an initiator, which compositions are semi-solid-like prior to curing and induce low shrinkage upon curing as a result of their partially polymerized nature prior to processing. The partially polymerized nature of the precursor mixtures also allows extremely impact-resistant objects/articles to be fabricated. Other desirable engineering property attributes can similarly be achieved via the judicious blending of starting ingredients in formulating the polymerizable (curable) mixtures.

摘要： A polyacrylate ester, and more particularly a polymethacrylate ester based dispersant-viscosity improver for lubricating oil compositions. Specifically, the dispersant viscosity improvers of this invention are nitrogen-containing copolymers comprising units derived from (A) from about 5% to about 75% by weight of alkyl acrylate ester monomers containing from 2 to 11 carbon atoms in the alkyl group; (B) from about 25% to about 95% by weight of alkyl acrylate ester monomers containing from 12 to about 24 carbon atoms in the alkyl group; and (C) From about 0.1% to about 20% by weight of at least one nitrogen containing monomer selected from the group consisting of vinyl substituted nitrogen heterocyclic monomers, N,N-dialkylaminoalkyl acrylate monomers, N,N-dialkylaminoalkyl acrylamide monomers and tertiary-alkyl acrylamides, provided that the total equals 100%. Processes for preparing the compositions, additive concentrates and lubricating oil compositions are described.
