    • A binding assembly for attaching a boot to a snowboard, designed in a manner to avoid cavities that can accumulate ice and snow and defeat its operation. The system includes first and second boot mounted bales in the form of rigid loops that extend from each side of the boot soles, and a pair of bindings attached to the snowboard. Each binding has a base including elongated, slotted holes located on the circumference of a circle through which bolts are placed to secure the base to the snowboard with a friction washer therebetween. The elongated holes allow for rotational adjustment of the binding. A hook-shaped structure extends from one side of the base with the hook facing outward. On the opposite side of the base is a camming structure with a downward and outwardly sloping surface ending in a bale-receiving notch. A spring loaded latch is pivotally mounted outboard and above the notch and includes a lever with a generally outwardly protruding handle on one side of the lever pivot axis, and a bale latching portion on the other side of the pivot. By placing the first bale over the hook and then thrusting the second bale downward against the latching portion and into engagement with the camming structure, the first bale is drawn into engagement with the hook as the second bale is guided by the sloping surface into the notch where it is retained by the latch. In order to release the binding, the user simply rotates the latch upward to free the bales.

    • The invention concerns a gliding board design with innovative skiing features. The gliding board design consists of two gliding board halves (1, 2) on which shoe-fastening devices are mounted. Both gliding board halves (1, 2) are connected pivotally via a linkage construction whereby a bearing is attached to each shoe-fastening device. A pole each is fitted into the bearings in relation to the longitudinal extension of the gliding board design and is extended underneath the shoe-fastening device, whereby the two gliding board halves (1, 2) can be pivoted in relation to the pole. A coupling device connects the poles (5, 6), which can be rotated, whereby each pole is kept at such a distance from the surface of the gliding board halves (1, 2) and the coupling device has been constructed in such a way that it prevents contact with the gliding board halves (1, 2) due to deflection or tilting while skiing.

    • A skateboard with a handlebar has a board member connected to a support rod from a front end. The handlebar is connected to a top end of the support rod for permitting direction of the skateboard to be changed. A front blade is pivoted to a lower end of the support rod, and a rear blade is pivoted to a rear lower part of the board member for permitting the skateboard to be moved along on ice. The blades can be replaced with shaped skis for permitting the skateboard to be moved along on snow. The skateboard further has a brake depressable to move the rear blade downwards for a stopping block on a bottom of the rear blade to contact the ice. The skis have stopping trenches on a bottom; the trenches do not touch the ground normally, but do when the skateboard leans sideways.

    • A binding insert suspension includes an insert assembly affixed within the core of a snowboard, and a compressible layer disposed between the binding and the snowboard. The insert assembly comprises an outer insert member and an inner insert member slidably seated with the outer insert member. The inner insert member is adapted to receive a threaded fastener of a binding in threaded engagement. The binding insert suspension provides a selected amount of dampened vertical travel between the snowboard and the binding for absorbing vibration when riding hard-packed surfaces, and for providing shock absorption when riding over jumps, half pipes, and other terrain.
