摘要： A trailer stabilizing device for stabilizing a parked freight trailer comprising a frame having mounted thereto at least a right side wheel and a left side wheel, the frame also including a hitch, a fifth wheel, and at least one of a repositionable wheel chock and a repositionable hook, the trailer stabilizing device further including a repositioning device in order to reposition at least one of the repositionable wheel chock and the repositionable hook. The present disclosure also includes a method of stabilizing a parked trailer at a loading dock, the method comprising: (a) positioning a wheeled trailer stabilizer underneath a parked freight trailer at a loading dock while landing gear of the parked freight trailer are deployed and a kingpin of the parked trailer is accessible; (b) securing the kingpin of the parked freight trailer to a fifth wheel of the wheeled trailer stabilizer; and, (c) deploying a repositionable hook operatively coupled to the frame of the wheeled trailer stabilizer so the repositionable hook couples to a cleat mounted to the ground, where deployment of the hook is operative to exert a pulling force on the kingpin.

摘要： A mechanism for improving the parking of an automobile. The mechanism includes an arm whose upper end is rotatably fixedly connected to the automobile chassis or undercarriage at a location which, in the case of a front wheel drive vehicle, is roughly between the two rear wheels. The axis of rotation of the arm is permanently angled to the rear axle so as to intersect either the right or left front wheels. The mechanism includes one or more passive auxiliary wheels connected to the lower end of the arm. The orientation of the axes of rotation of the passive auxiliary wheels is substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the arm. The mechanism further includes a mechanism for rotating the arm so as to cause the passive auxiliary wheels to first contact the ground and then lift the rear wheels off the ground to allow the automobile to be maneuvered and parked when the automobile is driven forwards or backwards.

The mount in one embodiment includes two separate brackets, each having a gusset-like configuration; the brackets being welded or bolted to the tongue in position such that the forward edges of a pair of upright sides of each of the brackets engages the jack in essentially diametrically opposite relationship to the jack. These edges are welded to the jack, and the resulting assembly provides a rugged, rigid, strong and simple mount for the jack. In a second embodiment the mount is formed of a single piece.

摘要： A geared two-speed landing gear mechanism for semi-trailers is disclosed, of the type in which a hand-crank shaft is movable axially to select two gear ratios. A detent mechanism for defining the shaft position includes an elongated C-shaped spring clip which selectively engages one of a pair of grooves on the shaft. A clip retainer is formed on one wall of the gear casing and includes a pair of bent-wire retainers which are stud-welded to the wall at opposite sides of the shaft opening defining an access space therebetween for the insertion or the removal of a shaft-supporting bearing. The retainers have laterally turned ends which engage the clip to restrain it against axial movement. The retainers also support the clip in an aligned condition for ease in the insertion or removal of the shaft.
