    • A folding drop leg for a trailer jack for supporting a trailer jack where added length is needed. The folding drop leg includes a base plate, a automatic locking swing plate, and a leg. The base plate is mounted to the bottom of the trailer's existing jack. The automatic locking swing plate is mounted to the base plate by use of a hinge pin and is swung upward when towing and dropped down to provide a stand for supporting the trailer when disengaged from the tow vehicle. The leg is mounted to the bottom of the automatic locking swing plate to add additional length to the existing jack leg rapidly when needed.

    • A system for determining when one or more jacks on a vehicle have contacted the ground. The system includes at least one of a pitch sensor that senses a pitch angle of the vehicle and a roll sensor that senses a roll angle of the vehicle. A jack extension system operatively associated with the vehicle jacks extends and retracts the one or more jacks on the vehicle. A control system operatively associated with the pitch sensor, the roll sensor, and the jack extension system monitors the pitch and roll sensors to determine the pitch and roll angles of the vehicle. The control system operates the jack extension system to lower the jacks to the ground and determines that the jacks have contacted the ground based on detected changes in the pitch and roll angles of the vehicle.

    • A personal ability vehicle (PMV) includes a frame with front and rear subframes. A steering mechanism is mounted on the front subframe and includes a steering front wheel connected to a tiller. The rear subframe includes a suspension mount comprising a pair of rear support legs. An anti-tip suspension includes a pair of trailing arms each mounting a trailing wheel. Each trailing arm is pivotally mounted on a respective support leg whereby the suspension is inevitable through a limited range of motion about a transverse suspension pivotal axis. A pair of spring assemblies are attached to the trailing arms and are adapted for selectively engaging the support legs to provide a counter-rotational torque force around the suspension pivotal axis in order to resist backwards tipping of the PMV, for example, when it is ascending an inclined sloping surface. Relatively uniform proportional, weight distribution on said steering front, main and trailing wheels is maintained throughout a range of loads.

    • A truck bed ballast system for providing incremental amounts of extra weight over the rear drive wheels of a pick-up truck that doubles as a storage container for traction-enhancing media, such as salt, sand, gravel, and the like. One example of the truck bed ballast system comprises at least one elongated cylindrical body member that is permanently capped at one end and may either be permanently capped or removably and resealably capped at the other end. At least one cylindrical body member is positioned in the bed of a pickup truck that is expected to need extra traction (such as in icy weather) between the rear wheel wells and the tailgate. If the truck were to lose traction and become stuck, despite the presence of the extra ballast weight, one or more cylindrical body members may be removed from the truck bed and their contents applied under the drive wheels to enhance traction and allow the truck to become unstuck.
