摘要： A filing system based on an alpha numeric system in which the numeric portion is based upon birth dates and the alphabetic portion on the names of the individuals within the filing system. A label has color coded areas thereon corresponding to the birth date of an individual, and a color coded label designating the initial of the last name of the individual. A second label bears the individual name. The labels are placed upon a file folder which is then placed into a filing system broken into main sets and subsets. The main sets are arranged chronologically according to the date, while the subsets within each set are arranged alphabetically as a function of the individual's surname.

摘要： A system for filing documents in a filing cabinet with a suspension rod. A suspension strip is fixed to a top edge of each document, and includes an orifice for receiving the suspension rod, and notches with an edge interposed therebetween. The notches and edges are identical from one suspension strip to one another. A scale is positioned behind the suspension strips of the documents, and displays identification information which is aligned with grooves formed by alignment of the notches of adjacent suspension strips. A tab fixed to a top portion of the suspension strip constitutes a guide mark for the document corresponding to which the suspension strip is fixed, wherein the tabs of different suspension strips are of different colors, and each color is associated with identification information which is displayed on the top portion of the scale for identifying documents.

摘要： A file folder having a tab capable of rotation is disclosed for displaying file identification and content information dependent upon the orientation of the file during storage. In the preferred embodiment, a rectilinear file having major and minor edges is utilized. The rotatable tab is placed at the corner remote from the major and minor edges on which the file is designed to rest. Dependent upon file storage, rotation of the tab occurs to display file identification and content information most conveniently. Provision is made to notch the file side to which the rotating tab is attached to positively lock the rotating tab in the desired orientation with respect to the file.

摘要： A table supports a cardboard file unit body as it is manually slid edgewise forwardly, engaged against a fixed but adjustable side edge guide, into engagement with a fore-and-aft movable front edge guide and an air microswitch thereon that actuates a punch mechanism. After punch operation, the front edge guide moves forward, bringing the punched portion of the body between the wings of a metal tab waiting at a peening station. Arrival of the front edge guide at its forward position trips another air microswitch to actuate a tab peening mechanism. The tabbed body is then manually withdrawn rearwardly and a new tab is automatically fed rearward to the peening station from a stack of tabs in front of that station. The punching and peening mechanisms, front edge guide and tab feed slider are actuated pneumatically.

摘要： The present invention provides a label jig adapted to guide accurate manual application of an adhesive label or label cover at an edge of a file panel. The jig includes a file edge guide, a label edge guide, raised relative to the file edge guide and a seat portion between and at generally right angles to the edge guides at the top of the file edge guide and at the base of the label edge guide. The seat portion which is used to seat only part of the label has low affinity for the adhesive on the label so as not to detract from its adhesiveness when the seated part of the label is removed from the seat portion of the jig.

摘要： For use in a multi-page book, an index system comprising elongated flat transparent plastic index tabs each affixed by a strip of transparent adhesive tape. The tab overlies one edge of an associated page, projecting slightly outward therefrom so as to present an indicia bearing end and projecting a substantially greater distance inwardly thereof, terminating in an inner end. The transparent adhesive tape overlies the inner end, overlapping both the adjacent inner portion of the tab and the page face, providing a point of attachment substantially inward of the page edge. Removal of the tab for reuse is effected by a rotation of the tab about the adhesively secured inner edge, partially peeling the tape back so as to enable a complete exposure of the tab and a twisting removal thereof from the tape, the tape subsequently being reapplied to the page.
