    • A process for applying a protective self-adhesive film onto a coat-finished product having an object unnecessary to be protected by the protective self-adhesive film, which process comprises (1) the following steps: applying a perforated self-adhesive film (a) having a perforation onto the surface of the coating of the coat-finished product so that an area occupied by the object may be positioned within the perforation, applying a protective self-adhesive film onto the object, the perforated self-adhesive film (a) and such a part of the coating of the coat-finished product as not to be covered with the perforated self-adhesive film (a), and removing an unnecessary portion of the protective self-adhesive film over the perforation; or (2) the following steps: applying the protective self-adhesive film onto the object and a coating of the coat-finished product, cutting out such an unnecessary portion of the protective self-adhesive film as positioned over the area occupied by the object by use of a cylindrical cutting device comprising a ring-shaped cutter blade and a cylindrical pressing means, preferably further comprising a ribbon heater to heat the cutter blade to press and adhere the remaining portion of the protective self-adhesive film around the onto the coating of the coat-finished product, and removing the cut unnecessary portion of the protective self-adhesive film by suction.

    • Disclosed herein is a sheet perforating apparatus comprising a sheet transfer mechanism; a perforating section for boring at least one filing hole in a sheet being transferred; and a sticking section for sticking a reinforcing pad on the sheet about the periphery of the filing hole. The perforating section comprises a punch cutter for boring the filing hole in the sheet transferred. The sticking section comprises a delivery part for delivering a reinforcing pad-carrying sheet comprising a releasable base sheet and reinforcing pads which have an adhesive layer and have been stuck on the releasable base sheet at predetermined intervals; a peeling part for acutely bending and reversely turning the reinforcing pad-carrying sheet from the delivery part to peel one of the reinforcing pads gradually from its front end; a catcher having a holding part, which holds the reinforcing pad separated by the peeling part with a holding blade making use of the adhesive layer provided on the reinforcing pad in such a manner that the adhesive layer faces outwardly, and adapted to move the holding part to a sticking region; and a backing pad to be moved following the movement of the holding part of the catcher and having a flexible backing face leading to contact with the holding part with the sheet nipped therebetween.

    • A low labor, highly efficient process and system for manufacturing chocolate coated ice cream cookie sandwiches is achieved by incorporating a conveyor system for transporting the ice cream cookie sandwich through the various stages of its manufacture along with uniquely constructed ice cream brick slicing machines and a unique chocolate coating machine. In addition, a pass-through freezer is preferably employed prior to the chocolate coating, in order to assure a high quality, tasty product. The ice cream slicing machine of the present invention employed in the process and manufacturing system of this invention is constructed for receiving a plurality of ice cream bricks and cutting each brick into a plurality of slices in an efficient, automatic, integrated operational procedure and presenting each ice cream slice to a holding zone for placement on a cookie moving along the conveyor system. In addition, the chocolate coating machine of the present invention incorporated into the process and manufacturing system of this invention incorporates a plurality of clamps controllably driven about the coating machine and positioned for receiving the ice cream cookie sandwich and automatically submerging the sandwich in a chocolate bath and automatically releasing the chocolate-coated ice cream cookie sandwich when the chocolate coating has completely cooled and dried.
