    • An apparatus for temporarily suspending or supporting a fascia board during the installation thereof, along the eaves or the end of a rafter tail of a frame of a roof structure is described, wherein the device includes a U-shaped bucket (16) for supporting or suspending the fascia board. The U-shaped bucket is engaged in cooperating with a swivel bracket (10) and a rafter tail clamp saddle (4) for attachment to the end of the rafter tail, respectively, to the frame of the roof structure. The apparatus provides an improved method of installing a fascia board, wherein, one person can install the fascia board for the completion of the roof structure thereof. The apparatus can be easily removed and applied to another section of the roof.

    • The present invention describes a workholding apparatus for holding workpieces that are to undergo various machining processes. The workholder apparatus is particularly suitable for numerically controlled machining applications. The workholder consists of a main body having a generally flat work surface and two or more clamping assemblies slidably located beneath the work surface. The invention includes a means for accurately and repeatably clamping a workpiece to the work surface, so that a part may be removed at an intermediate stage for examination or other processing, and returned to the workholder in the same location. A major advantage of the present invention is the clamping is accomplished without producing undesirable stresses in the workpiece, and all sides of the workpiece can be exposed for machining without changing the attachment of the workpiece in the workholder. A modular and extensible embodiment of the invention is also described.

    • A tool for positioning and installing paneling sections, such as drywall sections, on underlying walls. The tool is initially secured to a wall, and comprises a vertical surface parallel to the wall and a downwardly angled surface. These surfaces, together with the wall, form a gap, which accommodates and temporarily holds a paneling section in place and therefore allows for easy installation and/or repositioning of the paneling. The downwardly angled surface forces the paneling section against the wall. The tool also may include a mounting surface with screw slots, these screw slots being capable of engaging and disengaging the screw to permit easy removal of the tool following use. A second angled surface may be positioned so as to guide the paneling into the gap.

    • A laser processing fixture is formed to allow for facet processing of cleaved laser bars, either individually, or allowing for multiple bars to be processed simultaneously. The fixture holds the bars at a precisely-controlled distance with respect to a predefined reference plane, and holds the bars rigidly enough so as to minimize the possibility of vibration, but not so forcefully as to cause damage. The fixture comprises a fixed jaw and a movable jaw, with a pair of spaced-apart support members extending between the jaws. One or more laser bars may then be positioned between the jaws such that the front and rear facets will be exposed above and below the jaws. Therefore, each facet may be processed without unloading and re-loading the bars in the fixture. The support members, which may comprise a pair of wires, are spaced a sufficient distance so as to be disposed beyond the location of any active device region. In an arrangement for processing multiple bars, the support members may be formed as rails (with or without vacuum pull-down slots) and spacer elements may be interposed between adjacent bars to prevent facet coatings from bridging between adjacent laser bars.
