    • A mixing device for the mixing of two or more liquids. A drive motor is connected to a hollow shaft which is rotatably contained within a shell body. The hollow shaft is configured with slotted gooves for receiving liquids to be mixed from inlets located within the shell body. A narrow annular gap region is formed between the outer surface of the hollow shaft and the inner surface of the shell body in an area of the hollow shaft not occupied by the slotted grooves. A first set of holes is configured in the hollow shaft located downstream of the narrow annular gap region for the introduction of liquids into the interior of the hollow shaft and a second set of holes configured in the hollow shaft located downstream of the first set of holes for dispensing the liquids from the interior of the hollow shaft and through the shell body.

    • Apparatus for wetting discrete particles of dry powder material such as polyelectrolites, carbon and other hard to wet material, is disclosed in this application. The apparatus comprises a wetting tank which is porvided with liquid supply and discharge mechanisms and a rotary drum which is only partially immersed in the liquid contained in the wetting tank. As the drum rotates it carries a thin layer of liquid on the surface portions not immersed in the liquid and also agitates the liquid in the tank. The powder is carried in a feeding hopper and discrete particles are discharged to the layer of liquid carried by the drum and thereafter the individually wetted particles are discharged into the liquid in the wetting tank where it starts to form a solution. The solution flows through the discharge mechanism and into a separate aging tank where the solution is finally formed. In one preferred embodiment of the invention a special spreader nozzle is used to spread the particles along a straight line on the drum.

    • A controlled cavitation device for mixing and heating of fluids in industries where sanitary conditions must be maintained. The device is easily disassembled for thorough cleaning and then easily assembled for continued operation. All internal surfaces are devoid of angles and are polished to food industry standards to maintain sanitary operation. The controlled cavitation device includes a cylindrical bearing housing for supporting a drive shaft that extends through each end of the bearing housing. An interior end plate is mounted to a C-face mount adjacent to the bearing housing and has a plurality of threaded bores around a periphery. A rotor is mounted adjacent to the interior end plate on the C-face mount. A housing assembly includes a cylindrical housing wall and is mounted on a swing arm assembly that is secured in place adjacent to the rotor. The housing assembly is rotated about a pivot arm in a first direction to fully enclose the rotor during assembly and is rotated in an opposite direction to expose the rotor during disassembly. An exterior end plate is fixed to one end of the housing wall to form a flange for connecting the housing assembly to the interior end plate.
