    • A transmission unit for a recreational vehicle comprises: steering arrangement controlled by movement of the weight of the user, driving assembly which includes a free-wheeling clutch, suspension assembly and braking assembly. The vehicle also includes an engine (with gearbox and clutch) and a user support platform, and is adapted for use on any type of land surface, both on- and off-road. The unit is connected between the engine and at least one axle, through a drive. The vehicle may include wheels with balloon tyres as part of the adaption for all terrain capability. A remote control may be remote from the vehicle and hand-operable.

    • A modular vehicle system consisting of a rear propulsion device and a variety of different front-end assemblies that can be attached to the rear propulsion device to create different types of motorized vehicles. The rear propulsion device contains a frame, an engine mounted to that frame and a drive wheel that is driven by the engine. The front-end assemblies contain a frame, a steering fork element and a steering mechanism for turning the steering fork element. The steering fork supports either a front wheel or a ski. The frame of the front-end assembly attaches to the frame of the rear propulsion device in order to create a vehicle upon which a person can sit. At any time, the front-end assembly can be exchanged with another of a different configuration in order to change the physical characteristics of the resultant vehicle.

    • A power transmission device having at least two one-way clutches is used to transmit the driving force of the power generator to the right and left drive wheels. By this power transmission device, it is possible to transmit the driving force of the power generator to the right and left drive wheels almost half and half when the wheel contact load are the same. While if the drive wheels rotate at a different speed, hardly any driving force is transmitted to the side of the drive wheel which can rotate faster and the driving force is mainly transmitted to the wheel rotates slowly. Accordingly, it is possible to transmit the power without fail to the drive wheel which touches the ground even when the transportation device is curving or slipping, or when one of the wheels parts from the ground.

    • A catalytic converter is especially adapted for placement to a motorized scooter. The scooter includes a front steered wheel, a rear driven wheel, and a structural tube extending between the wheels. A motor driving the rear driven wheel has an exhaust emission line. An exhaust tube having first and second open ends is provided. The exhaust tube is mounted through a sidewall of the main structural tube with a first end disposed exterior of the main structural tube and a second end discharging interiorly of the main structural tube. The exhaust tube has a catalytic converter preferably at the second end thereof. A flexible connection is provided between the exhaust emission of the motor and the first end of the exhaust tube. In operation, exhaust flows to heat the catalytic converter concentrically of the main structural tube and the converter operates exothermically at high temperature at the second end of the exhaust tube. Gas passing through the converter expands and cools, typically reverses flow about the exhaust tube, and discharges from the main structural tube. There results optimum catalytic operation, tamperproof location, optimum muffling, and safe heat discharge from the scooter body.

    • The present invention generally relates to a propulsion device and method of use of the propulsion device that propels at least one user equipped with at least one friction-reducing device. The propulsion device typically comprises a motor, a drive train, and a traction device attached or incorporated into a frame. At least one user is secured to the device by straps that engage the user at a waist level or shoulder level interface. The user may direct the propulsion device by acting upon the handlebars that are adjustably attached to the frame of the propulsion device. Moreover, multiple users using multiple propulsion devices can engage in social group or competitive activities. The propulsion device offers the versatility of being able to traverse numerous forms of terrain while using a variety of friction-reducing devices.
