    • Described herein are methods and devices for infusion of a radioactive compound, such as yttrium-90 radiolabeled somatostatin peptide or analog. A radiation shield defining a shielded cavity suitable for storing a radioactive substance includes a first aperture providing external access to the shielded cavity and a second aperture suitable for transferring a dosage vial into and out of the shielded cavity. A removable shielded plug and panel are adapted to shield respective apertures of the radiation shield. At least one dose of a radiolabeled compound stored in a vial in the radiation shield is delivered through a fluid communication channel at a rate of about 500 mL/hour. The fluid communication channel is washed after delivery, such that the process substantially reduces radiation exposure during infusion of the radiolabeled compound into a patient.

    • A protective apparatus for a chemotherapy injection needle, includes a coring needle, a plastic film integrated with a hand-held film, and an injection vessel, wherein the coring needle is a through, hollow and metal needle having a needle head bent downwards to form an angle with a needle body which connects to the injection vessel at a rear end. The plastic film has two trapezoidal and protruding wings extending to two sides, and when the two protruding wings are folded to clamp the needle head, the protruding wings' extending length is sufficient to wrap a tip part of the needle head, and positions where the protruding wings wrap the tip part are corresponding to concaved grooves of the needle head, so that the two protruding wings attach closely with each other. Also, the two protruding wings engage with each other by a locking device to secure the protruding wings.

    • A safety cap for tightly closing a container having liquid radioactive iodine solution in it. The cap is provided with a pair of holes through which extend a pair of straws, each of the straws having an inner end in communication with the interior of the container. Each straw also has an outer end, one of which is insertable into the patient's mouth for drinking the liquid radioactive iodine solution in the container, and the other of which is insertable into a glass of water so that, after the patient has drunk most of the liquid radioactive iodine solution in the container, the residue of the solution in the bottle may be flushed out by forming a partial vacuum in the interior of the bottle, thereby causing the water in the glass to be drawn into the interior of the container to be mixed with the residue of the solution and, thereafter, to be drawn into the mouth and drunk by the patient. The dispenser, thus formed, prevents any accidental leakage of radioactivity from the liquid radioactive iodine solution to the ambient air and, therefore, to any person, such as a doctor or nurse, administering the dosage of liquid radioactive iodine solution. The safety cap also prevents accidental spilling of the liquid radioactive iodine solution during administration of the liquid to the patient, since access to the liquid in the container is provided by the straws, with the safety cap not removed from the bottle.

    • The application relates to radiation shielding (12) for use with radiopharmaceutical syringes (14). For example, in at least some regards, the invention relates to a syringe radiation shield that includes a sleeve (18) having a syringe receptacle defined therein to accommodate a barrel (26) of the syringe. In addition, this syringe radiation shield may also include a cover (20) having a plunger receptacle defined therein to accommodate a plunger of the syringe. The sleeve and the cover may be removably coupled with one another so that the syringe can be housed within the syringe radiation shield, for example, during administration of a radiopharmaceutical from the syringe.

    • The present invention provides an improved positron radioactive drug radiation shielding device, which achieves savings in space required to store a canister after dismantling the device. Furthermore, a tungsten sleeve is disposed within the canister, and functions in coordination with a syringe. The tungsten sleeve is able to block radioactive radiation released by radioactive drugs contained in the syringe. Moreover, a front cover and a rear cover joined to two sides of the canister enable a hermetically-sealed space to be formed within the canister, which increases the effectiveness of blocking the amount of radiation from the canister, thereby reducing danger to the human body from the radiation.
