    • Methods and apparatus for steam sterilization in which goods are conditioned by removing air and heating to a desired temperature in sealable chamber. Pressure change in the chamber is monitored and employed to control conditioning. The goods are subjected to a plurality of controlled cyclic pressure pulses below a predetermined supra-atmospheric pressure level by alternate evacuation and vapor pressurization of the chamber. The cyclic pressure pulsing is made responsive to load characteristics which are determined by monitoring pressure change rate in the chamber. In a specific embodiment, air is flushed from the chamber initially by the injection of steam simultaneously with evacuation; the evacuation phase of each pulse continues until both a predetermined time has lapsed and a predetermined vacuum level has been attained; and, the steam pressurization phase of each pulse is continued until a fixed pressure related to sterilization temperature is reached.

    • A clothing deodorizer for deer hunters. The deodorizer includes a bag in which is placed the clothing to be deodorized of human odor. Within the bag a perforated container holds a granular material which can adsorb the human odor from the clothing. An object which can pulverize the granular material is placed in the container, so that as the bag is tumbled e.g. in a clothes dryer the object grinds the granular material into a powder which comes out through the perforations, contacts the clothing, and adsorbs the human odor exuded by the clothing.

    • A method to sterilize the surfaces of objects placed in a continuous flow of a low temperature, low pressure gas plasma, containing small amounts of aromatic, heterocyclic and saturated or unsaturated acyclic aldehydes alone or mixtures thereof. Said gas plasma is a partially ionized gas composed of ions, electrons and neutral species. It is created by electromagnetic discharges at subatmospheric pressure in the 1 to 10,000 Megahertz range, and corresponds to a minimum average spatial energy density of 0.001 watts per cubic centimeter.The gas plasma may also contain other vaporized cidal agents. Contrary to most sterilant gases, the method is safe, allows quick handling of heat sensitive items, does not corrode equipment and does not leave toxic residues.
