摘要： Improvements in the existing procedures and materials for conduct of high gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) are disclosed. The use of plastic coated matrices especially small spheres or balls which form superior magnetic gradient-intensifying supports are disclosed, along with improved methods and apparatus to conduct HGMS. The selection of small spheres in combination with the coating provides for uniform matrices of high stability.

摘要： A therapeutic support stocking made from a fabric of non-constricting flexible elastic fibers which extends from an area completely covering the toes to an area above the bend in the knee at the back of the leg and is held in place by an elastic band. The stocking is lined with a smooth, absorbent, and washable material. A plurality of ventilation and traction eyelets are located in the fabric only at the lateral parts of its leg segment. Embedded within the stocking are a pair of pads designed to fill the retromalleolar cavities to cushion and protect the Achilles tendon. A plastic, chamfered heel piece is further provided to antevert the axis of the leg to relieve tension in the Achilles tendon. An ankle support is additionally included, connected to the remainder of the stocking through an elastic transition zone to prevent constriction of the foot. The stocking is designed to support, cushion, and relieve tension in a number of indissociable components of the leg and to stimulate vascular circulation.

摘要： A lens case for use with a dry heat sterilizer unit, or the like, wherein said sterilizer unit includes a substantially flat heated support surface with the lens case supportable thereon in intimate surface-to-surface heat conductive contact. The lens case is substantially flat and includes shallow, cup-like base and cover sections. The lens case base section includes separate, lens supporting arrangements for receiving a pair of lenses, said lens support arrangements being provided in side-by-side relation. The lens case is designed to be positioned on said support surface of said sterilizer unit only in an inverted position, i.e. with the cover engaged with said heated support surface, and said lens support arrangements inverted, which serves to prevent overheating of the lenses. Further, the cover member for the lens support arrangements, include central apertures, which permit the lenses to be engaged during opening of said covers, to preclude said lenses from adhering to said cover members.

摘要： Sterilization of a web of packing material is accomplished in two steps with the web first being coated and washed with a sterilizing agent in liquid form at a first treatment station. The web then passes through a second treatment station where sterilizing liquid is sprayed as a fine mist onto a heated surface which vaporizes the sterilizing liquid. The vapor condenses on the passing web to further sterilize the web. One or more heaters again vaporizes the sterilizing agent which is on the packing web to remove the sterilizing agent. The sterilized packing material web is then cut into individual package units after the web has been filled with sterile contents.

摘要： A toilet brush and deodorant holder has a base and a child-proof, removable, elongated, upright cylindrical column supported thereon. The column comprises inner and outer concentric walls radially spaced from one another to define an elongated, annular, compartmented passage therebetween. The base contains a vented cavity for holding a deodorant cake. Vapors from the cake flow upwardly through the annular passage to the upper ends of the concentric walls. A cap is removably supported at the upper ends of the walls and has vents in registration with the annular passage. The cap has a central opening for supporting the handle of a toilet brush which is insertable for storage in the cylindrical chamber defined by the inner wall. The brush is supported in spaced relation from the cake by the lower portion of the inner wall which has an aperture to permit drainage of moisture from the brush onto the cake.
