    • For stamping shelf supporting brackets of an overall L-shaped configuration from band material (13), the cutting lines are so arranged that one cut generates the upper edges (6) of two adjacent brackets rotated by 180° with respect to each other, and the subsequent cut generates the lower edges (14) of those two brackets which are contiguous to each other at this location. The cantilever portion (4) of each bracket has its free end provided with a hook portion (5) which projects from the upper edge (6) and in use serves for retaining the respective shelf. At the opposite end, the upper edge (6) of the cantilever portion (4) has a notch (7) which is shaped complementarily with respect to that part of the hook portion (5) which projects above the upper edge (6). In the stamping process, the size of waste clippings (15) is reduced by having the hook portion (5) of one bracket extend into the notch (7) of the adjacent bracket.

    • A wall mounted shelf system comprises plural elongate bracket standards adapted for securement on a wall surface, and engaged in slots on faces of the bracket standards, plural shelf brackets support at least one shelf. Standard covers are positioned as an outer skin, in contact with opposing surfaces of the bracket standards. Apertures in the standard covers each are sized and positioned for tight-fitting around one of the shelf brackets and are open to an end edge so that the standard covers can be installed onto the bracket standards, without disassembling the brackets from the standards. In this manner, an inexpensive cover can be installed on existing shelf systems without disassembly. The butting edges of each of the covers are hidden behind the shelves so that the final appearance of the wall mounted standards may be changed in color, texture and other designer effects.

    • A shelf support for locking a shelf edge portion in place when a shelf is positioned between opposing wall members in a cabinet or the like comprises a body member having a lower body portion, a middle body portion, and an upper body portion. The lower body portion has a front face and a back face. A shelf flange is connected to the lower body portion front face, and a stem is connected to the lower body portion back face. The middle body portion is connected to the lower body portion at a first resilient junction, with the middle body portion extending at an obtuse angle away from the lower body portion. The upper body portion is connected to the middle body portion at a second resilient junction, with the upper body portion having an inner opening formed therein, with the inner opening extending downward towards the middle body portion. The upper body portion also has a top edge portion formed thereon, with a substantially flat finger connected to the top edge portion at a third resilient junction, the finger extending downward toward the middle body portion. The finger is in a position projecting away from the upper body portion. The finger has a lower shelf retaining edge and the finger is dimensioned to be collapsibly received within the inner opening. The middle body portion and the upper body portion together form an obtuse angle at the second resilient junction and tend to flatten and increase that angle as a shelf edge portion is moved over the upper body portion towards the flange. In contrast, the finger and the upper body portion together forming an acute angle at the third resilient junction and tend to flatten and decrease that angle as a shelf edge portion is moved over the upper body portion towards the flange. As a result, when a shelf edge portion is moved over the upper body portion and contacts the flange, the finger returns to the aforesaid position projecting away from said upper body portion, the retaining edge engages the shelf end portion, and the shelf is locked in place between the retaining edge and the flange.

    • The present invention provides a shelf assembly for a cooking apparatus such as a barbeque grill, and method of using same. The shelf assembly has a shelf component which can rotate about a generally horizontal axis of rotation located generally at a first end of the shelf component, from a lowered position to a raised position. The cooking apparatus or an associated apparatus has a frame member which supports the first end of the shelf component about the axis of rotation. The shelf assembly also has a support extending downwardly in relation to the shelf component when the shelf component is in the raised position. The support is capable of rotating about the axis of rotation with the shelf component. The shelf assembly further has a stationary coupler located generally below the axis of rotation in the vicinity of where the support is capable of rotating about the axis of rotation with the shelf component. The support can releasably engage with the stationary coupler when the shelf component is in the lowered position to generally prevent the shelf component from inadvertently swinging outwardly from the lowered position. The support also supportingly engages with the stationary coupler to support the support and the shelf component when the shelf component is in the raised position.
