    • A check valve includes a tubular casing, an abutment member, a valve member and a resilient member. The abutment member is flexible, is disposed in the tubular casing, and defines a central opening interconnecting first and second spaces that are defined in the tubular casing. The valve member is disposed in the tubular casing and is movable between a blocked position where the valve member blocks the central opening to isolate the first space from the second space, and an unblocked position where the valve member is spaced apart from the abutment member such that the first and second spaces communicate with each other. The resilient member is mounted to the tubular casing and biases the valve member toward the blocked position.

    • A pressure-reducing valve includes a housing, a pressure-reducing piston, a driving piston, and a spring mechanism. The housing is provided with a primary port and a secondary port. The pressure-reducing piston is displaceably retained in an interior of the housing. The pressure-reducing piston is displaced to control an opening degree of the primary port and configured to separate the interior of the housing into a primary-pressure space connected to the primary port and a secondary-pressure space connected to the secondary port. The driving piston is displaceably retained in the interior of the housing. The driving piston is displaced to cause the pressure-reducing piston to be displaced in association therewith and has a secondary-pressure receiving surface that receives a secondary pressure from a fluid in the secondary-pressure space. The spring mechanism is configured to exert a spring force against the secondary pressure to at least one of the pistons.

    • A valve for maintaining constant fluid flow under conditions of a specified operating inlet pressure and varying inlet pressures in excess of the specified pressure includes a tubular valve body having a fluid flow channel extending between an inlet and outlet. The fluid flow channel includes a first flow path having a first variable volume and cross-sectional area, and a second flow path having a second variable volume and cross-sectional area. The valve further includes an fluid discharge orifice whose cross-sectional area less than the minimum of the first or second variable cross-sectional areas. If the inlet pressure is above or below the specified operating pressure, the variable volumes are caused to change to maintain a substantially constant fluid flow from the valve.

    • An improved one-way fluid valve construction is provided. A valve housing (102) includes one or more valve ports (108) and control ports (110). A control member (304) is disposed within the control port (110). The control member (304) is movable within the control port (110) between a first position and a second position. A control rod (302) can extend between the control member (304) and a portion of the valve port (108). A control rod coupling (402) interacts with the control member (304) to cause a rotational or pivotal movement the control rod (302) through a predetermined angular arc in response to movement of the control member (304). A sealing face (404) formed on a second portion of the control rod (302) advantageously forms a seal with an orifice (316) that separates an input side of the valve port (108) from an output side. The seal can be formed when the control rod (302) is in a control rod sealed position. When the control rod (302) is rotated to a control rod unsealed position, the sealing face unseals from the orifice (316).

    • In one embodiment, a flow control valve includes a valve body having an inlet, an outlet, a flow passageway coupling the inlet to the outlet, and a cavity with first and second chambers. The valve further includes a hollow piston disposed in the first chamber and a seal separating the first and second chambers. The seal has a section within the piston that is exposed to the fluid in the first chamber. The section of the seal defines a first effective area. The valve also includes a biasing member configured to urge the piston, and a reference pressure passageway in fluid communication with the inlet and the second chamber. The valve can further include a piston seat that has a second inner effective area at least approximately equal to the first inner effective area.
