    • A solar heat collector, wherein an absorber plate is mounted in a box member provided on the upper surface thereof with a transparent sheet. The surface of the absorber plate is subjected to a selective absorption surface treatment, and a transparent heat trap is bent into continuous V-shapes and disposed between the transparent sheet and the absorber plate. The transparent heat trap is formed of an ethylene fluoride series resin film having a film thickness of 1 to 100 .mu.m, having a degree of crystallinity of 35 to 55% and being transparent for the infrared rays as well as for the solar rays. With this arrangement, heat losses due to convection, radiation and conduction are suppressed at the same time, so that a high heat collecting efficiency can be secured.

    • A solar energy collector comprises at least a first lens system having a first convex outer light receiving face facing generally in a first direction and having a first series of condensing lens elements, each having a focal plane. The focal plane of the first system collectively define a first focal surface and first metal element means is located in the first focal surface, embedded in the material of the first system. A sun motor incorporating the collector further includes at least one cylinder attached to the collector through an aperture therein. A drive room is aligned with the cylinder and contains a pair of flywheels having confronting grooves. The cylinder contains a piston which is fixedly connected to the flywheels by a piston rod. Driven shaft means are coaxial with the flywheels. A displacer rod has at its upper end a valve which opens and closes an aperture in the collector and extends through the piston rod to its lower end where it engages and follows confronting grooves in the flywheels.

    • The present invention relates to a solar heater for heating a fluid which is constituted by a frame, a bottom plate, partitions, an upper plate of a transparent material, an inlet and an outlet for the fluid. The bottom plate is preferably made of a blackened material, e.g. metal, plastic, whereas the upper plate is preferably made of glass, perspex or P.V.C. A modification comprises a concave mirror coated with a reflecting material and covered with a transparent plate into which a unit of the above solar heater is inserted. The invention relates also to a system comprising several units of solar heaters.

    • An improved integral storage solar heating system is described which comprises an integral storage solar collector comprising an absorber means, a heat storage medium of large heat capacity and high thermal conductivity directly heated by the absorber means and a water flow path in heat exchange relationship with said heat storage medium such having a water inlet and water outlet; and a primary pressurized water supply line connected to the water inlet, where pressurized water from the supply line into the water inlet forces fresh water through the water flow path as heated water is removed through the water outlet. The improvement comprises covering the integral storage collector with a collector cover essentially transparent to solar radiation, the cover and storage collector are connected by at least one panel. Solar radiation passes through the transparent cover and is absorbed by the absorber means of the collector. The collector is oriented substantially parallel to the horizon.

    • A heating system for heating a building includes a solar energy collector. The collector is constructed from a plurality of glass panels. A first group of glass panels are mounted in an inverted pyramid with mirror surfaces to reflect solar energy to the base of the pyramid. A second group of transparent panels form an upright pyramid which is joined with the first pyramid at the base. A collector coil containing a circulating liquid is mounted at the junction of the bases of the two pyramids to collect solar energy which passes through the transparent upper pyramid and which is also reflected from the inverted pyramid. Water or other fluid is circulated through the collector coil and stored in an insulated storage tank. Thermostatic control is used to control the circulation of the heating fluid in accordance with the temperature. The heating fluid is pumped from the storage tank to various use devices such as baseboard radiators, water heaters and other devices which require heat.
