The working image is displayed on a display screen (36) in a quick review mode of operation in response to a quick review signal entered by the camera operator via a camera control interface (74) to control processing circuitry (68,72) of the camera. The processing circuitry controls the display screen to keep it in an inactive state until the quick review signal is entered, and returns it to an inactive state after a predetermined time period or when the quick review signal is discontinued to conserve energy. In addition, the working image is displayed in the quick review mode regardless of whether a non-volatile memory is available in the camera or, in the case of a hybrid camera, whether a film cartridge is contained in a film chamber (98) of the camera.

摘要： A digital camera that operates inside and in conjunction with a non-digital camera, enabling the user to continue to use the non-digital camera, controls and associated lens, flashes, etc. The digital camera includes an imager which senses the image to be recorded and a light detector which detects the existence of light due to the opening of the shutter aperture of the non-digital camera. The light detector controls the imager such that an image is recorded and output from the imager when the light detector detects the opening of the shutter aperture which occurs when the photographer depresses the shutter button to take a picture. Preferably the digital camera includes a memory for storage of the images recorded. These images can then be subsequently output to an external device for further processing or display.

摘要： An improved hybrid camera is provided for capturing an image photographically on film and electronically on an electronic sensor in which the image captured by the electronic sensor may be electronically cropped to match the image captured on the film. The camera includes a first lens having multiple focal lengths and a second lens having two selectable focal lengths. The image is focused through the first lens onto the film to capture the image photographically, while the image is focused through the second lens on an electronic sensor to capture at least the image electronically. A controller in the camera selects the focal length of the second lens to maximize the resolution of the portion of the image captured on the electronic sensor which matches the image captured on the film. The image captured on the electronic sensor may be cropped by the controller to match the image captured on the film. The controller can display the cropped image on a color LCD screen, thereby allowing the user to view the same image as captured on film, or store the cropped image in memory.
