摘要： A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, a circuit for determining a magnitude difference between a first signal supplied to an antenna and a second signal radiated by the antenna, determining a phase difference between the first signal supplied to the antenna and the second signal radiated by the antenna, measuring a change in reactance of an antenna, detecting an offset in an operating frequency of the antenna based on one of the magnitude difference, the phase difference, the change in reactance, or any combination thereof, and adjusting a resonant frequency of the antenna to mitigate the offset in the operating frequency of the antenna. Other embodiments are disclosed.

The antenna at the new resonant frequency is at least approximately at the desired bandwidth of operation of the antenna structure. Other embodiments are disclosed.

摘要： Electronic circuitry supports utilization of a series of pulses of varying width to tune a transducer (e.g., a coil that produces or receives a magnetic field) for transmitting or receiving. For example, a control voltage generator generates a sequence of digital pulses of varying pulse widths to produce respective control voltages. The control voltage generator applies a produced control voltage to a varactor element whose capacitance changes depending on a magnitude of the produced control voltage. The varactor element forms part of a tank circuit. Consequently, the series of pulse widths controls an operating frequency of the tank circuit at different times. The tank circuit includes an inductive coil that is tuned to produce or receive a magnetic or inductive field.

摘要： A limited-channel television tuning system includes a MNOS memory for storing tuning voltage information. Memory locations are addressed by channel address means through an encoder-decoder arrangement. The encoder supplies a clock-controlled channel address register for transferring the encoded address information to a comparator, which is also supplied directly with the encoded address information. The comparator outputs drive a delay circuit, consisting of a clocked flip flop AND gate arrangement, through a NOR gate. The output of the AND gate supplies a one-shot multivibrator for energizing the memory.

摘要： An all electronic tuning system is described for establishing a frequency of a local oscillator in a television receiver. When a channel selection is made, a number representing the desired channel is entered in a memory circuit. A first plurality of frequencies is generated in response to a channel selection, and a VCO employed as a local oscillator is caused to increase in frequency. When the VCO frequency differs from the first plurality of frequencies by a predetermined amount, a second plurality of frequencies is generated. Each frequency generated in said second plurality of frequencies is compared with said VCO frequency. When a predetermined difference exists between said VCO frequency and said second plurality of frequencies, a count is recorded. When the recorded count is equivalent to the number obtained in the memory circuit, the VCO tuning is inhibited and the VCO frequency is stabilized until a subsequent channel selection is made.
