    • A method for securing wireless communication between an in-vehicle system and multiple portable devices brought into a vehicle. The method can include receiving a communication request from a portable device, and determining whether a primary device has authorized wireless communication between the in-vehicle system and the portable device requesting communication, where such authorization can be provided via near field communication (NFC). The method can further include establishing wireless communication between the in-vehicle system and the portable device requesting communication when the portable device requesting communication is the primary device, and when the portable device requesting communication is a secondary device and the primary device has authorized wireless communication via NFC.

    • According to one aspect, a method includes determining when a first device and a second device are in proximity to each other, wherein the first device includes a first microphone and the second device includes a second microphone. The method also includes pairing the first device and the second device, and creating a mobile mapping of the physical relationship between the first device and the second device. Pairing the first device and the second device forms a microphone array that includes the first microphone and the second microphone. An aggregate stream is created using a first stream obtained from the first microphone and a second stream obtained from the second microphone. Creating the aggregate stream includes using the model mapping to determine when to use the first stream and when to use the second stream. Finally, the method also includes transmitting the aggregate stream.

    • A method, algorithm, circuits, and/or systems for demodulation in an amplitude modulated (AM) radio receiver are disclosed. In one embodiment, a radio receiver can include an amplifier configured to receive a radio frequency (RF) input signal and a gain control signal, and provide an amplified signal, an automatic gain control (AGC) circuit configured to receive a high threshold comparator output and provide the gain control signal, a mixer configured to combine the amplified signal and a local oscillation signal and provide a mixed output, a high threshold comparator configured to compare the mixed output with a reference level and provide the high threshold comparator output, and a low threshold comparator configured to compare the mixed output with the reference level and provide an output of the radio receiver.

The sub-communicating devices include a cordless microphone for converting acoustical signals to electrical signals and providing same to a transmitter which transmits corresponding simplex RF signals on a cordless telephone frequency to a base unit attached to a telephone network; and a cordless speaker which receives simplex RF signals from a base unit and broadcasts a corresponding telephone conversation. The base unit may connect directly to a telephone network or, in an alternate embodiment, to the handset jack of an existing telephone, thereby interfacing to existing phones including those connected to digital telephone systems. The base unit may also include a speaker used to broadcast the telephone conversation. The base unit speaker and the cordless speaker each may optionally broadcast both sides of the phone conversation, including the presenter's speech received from the cordless microphone. The system may also be interfaced to an existing sound system via a remote interface unit or a base unit.
