    • The present invention provides, among other things, antenna beam control devices, systems, architectures, and methods for radar and other applications, such as wireless communications, etc., to improve transmit and/or receive performance of the devices and systems employing such antennas by deploying beam control elements (20) to increase antenna gain at an angle less than a first angle relative to the antenna gain at angle greater than a first angle. Beam control elements are deployed in combination with the one or more antennas (12) in various systems of the present invention, such that the impact of reflected radiation from wind mill, communication, or other towers supporting the system or other nearby structures, as well as radiation from nearby wireless communication networks is decreased to an acceptable level. The beam control elements can include absorbing and reflective material and can be placed in the antenna near field to minimize costs.

    • Provided is a parabolic antenna that suppresses leakage of radio waves with a simpler configuration. The parabolic antenna includes a horn that transmits and receives signals; a feed that supports the horn and relays the signals the horn transmits and receives; a reflector that reflects the received signals to focus the received signals on the horn and reflects the signals from the horn to transmit the signals; a reflecting mirror supporting member that supports the reflector; and a feed fitting adapter that enables the feed to be fitted into the reflecting mirror supporting member. A choke groove is formed in at least one of a joint area between the reflecting mirror supporting member and the reflector and a joint area between the reflecting mirror supporting member and the feed fitting adapter, which suppresses propagation of radio waves traveling through the gap of the joint area.

    • An unbalanced antenna includes a non-conductive substrate having one short edge, and two long edges connected respectively to two opposite ends of the short edge and parallel to each other, and an unbalanced antenna disposed proximate to the short edge of the non-conductive substrate and having a ground portion. A ground plane has side edges extending along the long edges of the non-conductive substrate, and is electrically coupled with the ground portion. The length of the ground plane is longer than a quarter of an equivalent wavelength corresponding to an operating frequency of the unbalanced antenna. A pair of choke sleeve structures are symmetrically disposed at opposite sides of the ground plane and spaced apart from the unbalanced antenna by a quarter of an equivalent wavelength corresponding to the operating frequency. Each choke sleeve structure has one end connected to the ground plane, and the other end extending in a direction away from the unbalanced antenna.
